Newbie question in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Can I play a game with fewer than 5 opponents? If I wanted to play on the smallest map and only play against the Yor, could I do that? Or are all species in every game? The game looks great, and I've convinced at least one of my friends to get it as well (I'm working on my other friends...) ;)
