I'm playing on normal and I got spotted by all the races I tried to culture-bomb with starbases (Drengin twice and Altarian once). They told me to hand over starbase X or die. Unfortunately, the starbases also had some nifty production and defense bonuses, so I told them: 'Three words. kiss. my. ass.' They only made a threat when they had a better military might. The altarians also noticed me buiding up the offence assist on a starbase and told me to stop or they'd kill me, b

Hi all. I'm in the UK and have finally bit the bullet (£41.49 with postage - ouch) to order from strategic-plus.co.uk. They let you pay by various methods, not just mastercard&visa credit cards like other places. I got a personal (i.e. not computer generated) e-mail a few hours later to say they have sold out but are getting new stock in on Friday. I'll let you know when it arrives and how good the service is, etc.

Evil players get along okay with each other but won't hesitate to attack each other if they reckon they can get away with it.

At the hardest difficulty, the AI gets a 40% cash bonus. At the second highest its 5%. At the lower levels it gets a cash penalty. There a post by Brad explaining it somewhere. Here it is: Intelligence One of the things we did do during the release candidates is make the game much easier to win on the lower levels. We found that experienced strategy gamers would get creamed even when the AI was set to "fool". But at the same time, at

Dearmad, that's what I'm looking forward to in GCiv. I hate the way that AI cheating removes tactics. Like in MOO games the AI would cheat to gain free missile/star bases or Civ would cheat to quick build defensive units. It meant that hit and runs and multi stage attacks were pointless. You always had to go for an all-or-nothing attack in the shortes time possible. Empire Earth is the worst, since the AI got free resources, so to win you HAD to take out his base buildings ASAP.
