Fresh game w/ the planet list bug. I just tried starting another fresh game, opened the list and changed the sort. Closed and reopened and everything's fine. Reloaded my original save and did this test and it's fine. I'm going to play some turns and see if the bug shows back up.
Mr Nice Guy
When I bring up the planet list, it's empty unless I click on one of the categories. Should I post my debug.err? Edit: Reloaded my save game and the list was working. Changed the sort from class to name and the above issue took place.
Oh yeah, almost forgot... If the rally list was sortable alphabetically that'd be a nice bonus.
Great work! Can't resist throwing in some requests wether it's for this patch, future patches, or the expansion... + Autolaunch: I like gigantic galaxies and setting up all those rally points can get tedious. + In the planet/ship list, it'd be nice if you could bring down a sort list to choose from instead of scrolling through. + In the starbase list, make it sortable by race and actually show the race of the base w/o have to click on it to find out. + Make t
Seems whenever I spy on a planet and go into the details screen, it says that the planet is in last place for their civilization. I just tried spying on a few drengin and it said each was in last place for them. Is this a bug?
Might be good if the tactical zoom could be cycled to only show allied, neutral and enemy too.
I truly enjoy this game and the staff behind it. Nowhere else have I found such a group of developers that stay in touch and interact with us. You have my utmost thanks. Now onto business... Minor bugs I've noticed a small bug when moving stacks of ships. I'll select all the ships in a stack (It has to be pretty big) and repeatedly right click on a destination. This will cycle through the ships and move them but only up to a certain number. After that I hav
I'm also getting the very cheap upgrades, but only after playing for a good while. Moving ships in stacks is getting a little funky. Sometimes I have to click a planet & then reclick the stack so I can move ships.
Ok here's a big one. I loaded up my saved game & none of my custom ships work right. They worked fine before I loaded my game. Now, whenever I click the upgrade button, it takes me to the ship but it's not the right hull and it's stripped of extras and the actual items on the ship are placed randomly on the hull. I can send in a saved game or whatever's needed. I was thinking I might as well kick out a few suggestions... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smi
The reinstall did magically fix the problem. Must've been a conflict with the bogus 1.1 patch that was initially released through stardock for a short bit. That's my guess anyways. Thanks CodeCritter for stepping up to help, I"m glad it's not needed now.
I sent in my save game & I'm reinstalling the game. Hope that magically fixes it. heh.
It'd be handy if the rally point list sorted itself alphabetically. When in the ship production screen for a planet, it'd be nice if I could have a tooltip when I move my cursor over orbiting ships so I can see what they are. I usually make a few different kind of defense ships & it'd be nice to know which ones I already have in orbit easier. Keep up the great work.
This is the first time I"ve had the election screen come up. There's no backround to it, the text just overlays the normal gamescreen and there's no button to press or anything to get out of the screen or continue on. My game is now frozen at that point. Any ideas? I downloaded the bogus version 1.1 before the right one was posted on stardock. Should I just reinstall the game fresh? Thanks for any help.
Edit : sorry, double post
I've wondered the same thing. I have a bad feeling there's no way to do it. I'm hoping they patch this, it would make things alot easier.
Yeah, lists staying put gets overlooked pretty commonly it seems. I have a few games that would be alot less tedious if the lists would just stay put.
I completely agree. I've noticed this kind of problem on a few games I have so maybe it's a common thing to overlook.
Thanks bigtime Soldier o Fortune. All I had to do was fiddle with that slider one time and all was well again. Give yourself a raise.
After updating through stardock to the 1.0X010 patch, all the planets & ships have disappeared. In place of planets are white rings and in place of ships are little icons that are the color of my race. I have a nvidia geforce gt 6600 with the latest drivers. Any help is greatly appreciated. I even tried uninstalling and re-downloading/installing the game and the problem is still there. No problems before this last patch.
After updating via stardock, all my planets and ships have disappeared. Even if I start a new game they're not there. There's small white circles where planets should be and blue icons where my ships should be. Any help is appreciated. I have a nvidia geforce 6600 gt with 81.98 drivers.
There's definitely a little polish that could help with the ship designer. I love it though. So awesome. My two main things I'd love to see are: Just ignore the hardpoint rotations in the list, I don't see a reason to keep track of them. Have it so that after you attach an item, you can resize & rotate them. Those two things would make me really happy.
Great work guys. I've never seen a company have so much communication with the public and actually in a down to earth way. It boggles the imagination but that's a good thing. One thing, I've decided its my personal quest to press this one issue... Please please please, make it so items added in the ship designer can be sized & rotated after they're attached. Plus, why keep track of the hardpoint rotations in the list? Seems simpler without it. I'm not sure if
I didn't see a scroll bar like other random events had. I've only had this one show up once so I'll have to double-check to make sure.
I don't think that the ship designer should keep track of hardpoint rotations since the list can get long. What'd be simplest is just being able to resize & rotate an item after it's placed on the ship. Plus, I think there needs to be one more type of rotation so you can "twist" it. Plus, have that list of ship modifications put the important ones before the extras. So if you want to, for example, remove your engines you don't have to scroll across the list to find them.
I also have a suggestion... When designing a ship, I think it would be alot easier if it didn't keep track of changing hardpoint directions. That list could get really long. Once an item is placed on a ship, you should be able to resize & rotate it, would make things way easier I'd say.
