Update: Smart Exception did not come up with a report and I found nothing in C:\ But when I looked closer I found that there actually was a report. I guess this changed with the last update to SmartException? However I send the report to '[email protected]'. The gernerated subject is 'GALCIV2 - 0x4ab6d4'. This is not of high priority, but I guess you are interested in this kind of stuff, right?. Many thanks in advance.
Edit: I have no idea why the forum lost the formatting information. Thus it was unreadable and I deleted the post.
+ Fixed bug where ships built in an off-screen port that had a rally point assign would be invisible next to the planet until they were selected or moved. This bug still appears in my games. When I click on the position where the ship should be it appears. Before not. Not a big deal but I
Hi syneris, your walktrhough works great woth 1.1Beta2. Many thanks. I didn't realize that you have so many cash before. The trick is to buy everything and rush for the Drengins. No need to fight the DL The second thing which was very valuable in your walkthrough is the trick to upgrade colony ships to transports. You don't have to wait for the technology and still ha
But please only the first sections with all the information about you PC and the game, and the last couple of lines. Furthermore you should download SmartExceptions from the download area and start it before the game starts. It creates an additional file in the root directory of your HDD, i.e. C:\ . The file ends with .CRA. Post this file, too. (I don't know if it works when you get a blue screen from Windows, but try it.)
But this only caps the population growth. When you have enogh food and moral you can unload additional population with transports or colony ships.
I've also seen mining starbases in the middle of nowhere. To expand the range one would be enogh and a influence starbase would be more usefull.
Yes, you need farms and entertainment on your front planets. High population does not only mean more money but also more soldiers.
@ Ellis82 Driver Date: 9/23/2003 04:42:04 Update your video drivers. GC2 uses a new feature of Direct X which is not supported by old drivers. This is mentioned in the readme, this forum and on many other places as well. And I bet you got a message "please update your video drivers" when you firs
Huh. For a minute I thought this was some kind of strange April Fool's joke... Uuh, it isn't? I'm very carefull with that date. I was fooled too often @Frogboy: What about your fist person shooter like GC game Stardock annouced some time ago? I gu
@ HEEGZ Both problems did already exist in the official 1.0X version. They are not related to the beta. The QICKSTAT option is described in the command line option area of the wiki. It starts directly a game with the last options. It's similar to a program start and Ctrl+N. I can live without it but it guess Stardock is interested in this kind of bugs. The other problem with the very long start time is more of a headache.<b
-Run the latest patch 1.0X (the 1.1 beta is not supported). I have the 1.1 beta but with 1.0X there were exactly the same problems. I simply hoped that it would get fixed with the beta. If all else fails, try posting
I updated on Version v1.1 BETA-2A but both problems still exist. When I start GC2 this is what I see for minutes in the Taks Manager: Image Name CPU Mem Usage GalCiv2.exe 00 7.268K i.e. no change in CPU usage, it stays at 0% and memory usage slowly increases from 7.268k to 7.620K in minutes.
I have got two problems. A gerneral problem on this machine is that the game takes very loooooong to start. It's more than 5 minutes On a very similar computer with the same main board (both Intel onboard 82865G grafics) and the same drivers (newest available via Intel) but much lower specs (only 512MB RAM, 2.8 GHz CPU and a smaller H
As far I know the "life force resource" did never make it in GC1. It was just an idea which was never implemented.
Hi LordReaper, welcome to the Jedi Republic. We always had some Sith in our ranks In fact our emperor did fall to the dark side himself
I run the game on much lower specs and it definitely works fine. AA is automatically switched off for the cut scenes but this is not a big deal. The only thing you should assure is that you have the newest video and audio drivers and the last version of DirectX.
Patch 3 is out at the end of the month - that alone speaks volumes. That's the featherbrained kind of comment Frogboy anticipated. I would not bother to help someone who starts a flame like this. But luckily there are many helpfull people here who are much more tolerant than I'm <im
Great. I can't wait for 1.1
There already are som job advertisements around. Contact Stardock when you are interested. You need to settle in Michigan though.
Wonderful. Stardock rulez! Please restore option in the ship builder to not wipe out all components on upgrade. I second that suggestion.
Originally there was no waste planned. But then they realized that you can have massive changes in you spending e.g. when you research a tech wich gives you a new planet improvement. All planets on autobuild start building this improvement at once. Unfortunately they took the worst solution and changed the game in the way that social spending is wasted again <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/SadAngry.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
This looks lika a campaign of the copy protection/DRM mafia.
8. Make it possible to zoom out even further to make it possible to view the complete map, i.e. something like the tactical view in GC1. For hughe/gigantic maps the minimap view is not sufficient to get a good picture of the complete galaxy and on the main map you can only view a very small fraction. At least on my small 1600x1200 screen Maybe not a "less than an hour" thing but I still hope it cou
