I think the reason desktopX doesnt work is because microsoft probably depreciated the UpdateLayeredWindow API, which is basically the api responsible for programs like desktopx and konfabulator. In other words, I think large portions of desktopx will have to be re-written, as alpha-transparency is now locally supported. Of course, it will be able to do much more and it should be relatively easier to code then it was on xp

If you want to parse RSS feeds, your going to have to figure out how to read the xml and do it yourself with string functions... It shouldn't be to hard..

Windowblinds has already had too many contests... desktopx has NEVER HAD ANY... i mean come on... we jus thad the GUI olypmics.. that was almost entirely windowblinds oriented DesktopX needs a contest!!!

the thing is, there really haven't been any contests for desktopX... There are tons of windowblinds and icon contests and I think its time for somthing diffrent. So i think we should do desktopX... Especially after the release of V3 I think there should be a widget and a theme category for the contest. I also think it would be nice if there were diffrent categories in the contest for age groups. Perhaps divided by 20 years or somthing. Wouldn'

Night Train: take a look at my royale desktopX theme. It has a dx start button which overlays the windows start button. It uses a 2 millisecond timer to stay on top of all windows (including the taskbar)
