In the public forum there is no concept of innocent until proven guilty as exists in a court of law (well, some parts of the court anyway). FUD is an effective tool for getting the uniformed to follow along. Again, it's just my opinion, but I think the VC people are really just waiting for the "next big thing" - and they aren't willing to accept returns of less than $100 million. The dot-com bust scared a lot of people, especially since prior to the bust it was not that hard to find something to invest in and get the returns they wanted. I don't really think it matters to the VC folks where they invest
One of the cries you hear a lot of today is that the US is outsourcing all of it's manufacturing and computer programming to foreign countries. The cry is loudest at the moment in the Information Technology field as more and more jobs are sent to places such as India and China. Al-Qaida changed the government in Spain. That is an inescapable fact. The Popular Party was ahead in all the polls up until the attack. The Socialist party pulled off an upset because of the attack. yeah - that was the reason I took the machine. It is a little bit difficult to get used to the Mac side of things but the terminal window felt friendly :) I'm thinking about using it as a file server, too. Thanks for the comment.
I don't think I'm going to spend the money to get Photoshop for my mac just yet. I'm mostly going to get use out of it playing on the UNIX side and maybe using it to capture photographs off the camera directly. I'll keep you in mind if I give it away :D

An urge to write has grabbed hold. I've been reading several blogs with great interest and decided that I might just try my own hand at blogging. It is my little experiment in changing from reader to author. I'm not sure that will be an entirely easy change to embrace, the burden to communicate coherently is on the author and that implies a certain responsibility that doesn't exist for the general reader. I guess time will tell if I can make the transition. <B
