It takes a while to play, sometimes more than 2 hours.
That's my basic reason not to play online. I hardly ever find time to play Company of Heroes via the net, and the matches there usually take 20 minutes, 30-40 being the maximum.
Second thing I hate about playing online is how you HAVE TO do the BEST thing at any given moment to survive 15 minutes.
I mean:
- I pick Vasari, cause I like them
- I realize I have to go EGG first
- I realize I have to mad colonize rush
- I get bored
In most RTS games you can employ different strategies at the start. Most games do end up with spam, but it really isn't set in stone what you have to do at the beginning. In sins, this is pretty much the case.
I wanna play to find out new cool stuff I can do with the race I'm given. I wanna try new things and I want them to be somewhat reliable. Situational, maybe. Not the best, maybe. But at least viable.
In a grand majority of games, there's just one way to go if you wanna stay alive.
No real options.
I hate that.
If I wanted to master just one way of playing, I wouldn't bother with a memory swallowing space RTS with missile frigates that look like scooters, I would play chess or bridge.
