It's hard to believe now that there was an internal debate about adding the ship design feature in which players could customize how their ships looked by adding 0-sized "extras".  Ship design has become almost a game unto itself. Check out some of the starship designs from this thread. These are in-game ships designed by players.

alt-printscreens, isn't working for me. Unless I just can't find where they're getting stored. Are you sure that's how to take a snapshot ?

That copies it to the clipboard. You still have to paste it into some program ala Paint or something.

Nah, the promise of a ship editor is what sold it for me. This isn't really my genre, but I don't dislike it, either. I don't think I would have bought the game without the editor. I'm glad I did and I'm enjoying the whole game more than I thought I would. Thanks for putting my "Cactus" up there!

Yeah, I totally wish I had more time to play with the ship designer. I love it though, lots of fun! One thing I'd like to see is the ability to use core designs as starting templates. That'd be slick.

Dude these ships are awsome. I have a lot of time to use the ship designer but I really not good with weapons, Defense or PRICE! These are pretty sick and must have took a lot of time to design and tinker with them.

Wow, all I can say is you guys rock, and I suck. All I've accomplished is putting bobble lights on my ships. I think I'm going to try to make the ugliest ships ever. Ones that are so hideous y opponents will cry with despair.
