Just wanted to post some ideas that I had for the game. It's in beta and it's already my favourite game
Sorry if they have been suggested before.
Have a research for each stat in the game (ie, one for attack, range, speed, armor, shields, hull, planet pop, etc) increase by 1% for each time researched, maybe make it cost like 5000 credits 150 metal and 250 crystal.
It would be for possible to increase you speed by 100% but it'd cost like 500000 credits 15000 metal and 25000 crystal
Have astroid fields where only frigates and fighters/bombers can go through (at reduced speed), capital ships can either go around them or shoot into them to get the enemy but can't go through it (maybe increased chance to miss for shotting out of and into?)
Ion clouds that give a bonus to anti-matter and gives the ships in them stealth/cloak (radar can't pick them up, until they shoot or get to close). Maybe even have a pirate base in the Ion field.
*each has it's own "gravity well" but has no planet or big enough astroid to colonize
** maybe have little patches near a small number near astroids or planets
Have the Flagship be unique. Not one of the previous capital ships
Can only have 1
Can go to level 15
Can be rebuilt with being researched and being built (each time, have to research everytime you want to rebuild it)
Command Center - structure that increases ship cap
Defensive Flak Cannon - targets fighters/bombers first then can do small damage to other ships
Defensive EMP Cannon - when hit, ships are slowed down to a crawl and have their reload time reduced, has a small radius blast
Gas Giant (planet)- has a small moon that can be colonized but has no astroids that can be mined, has a biggier gravity well and can build more defensive structures
A patrol command - a set of waypoints that loop, the ships on patrol will attack depend on what attack status has been selected
A retreat trigger command - have an option for a capital ship retreat (either selected by the player or the nearest friendly own gravity well) when the trigger is on, have the player set the trigger (fight to the death, when hull is 5%, 10%, 35%, etc)
