I don't know if any of you guys are a fan of the mini's genera. Did anyone here ever play games workshops short lived Battlefleet Gothic.

That game was pretty fun.

Some of the stuff I liked from there.

1. Massive torpedoes

Were talking about ship killers that you had to move the ship out of the way from and could use to move other guys ships out of areas that you wanted to go into.

2. Boarding action

You could fire "boarding torpedoes" and basically take over a ship or failing at that sabotage large sections of it.

3. Ramming / Fire Ships

Some ships could ram it was pretty sweet some could also function like a big torpedo.... that was awesome.

4. The ships had sections you could knock out an engine ... that was pretty cool.

5. Ships could really blow up

As in they would implode and take down anyone who happened to be near them that was pretty awesome.

6. Some ships as i recall could use gravitic and solar wind effects

well i just got bothered to read all the stuff above the master cheif stuff and realised that your an Aussie too chang =P (i'm in NSW =P)

on a more mod related note the news on the test version is good have we sorted those isues with the xsi converter yet or am i going to need to explode my brain a bit?

I don't know, it's not my job. Hope it's done so I can quickly replace this optical assault with something more aesthetically pleasing.

Right now, I've got all the ships done. There are a few annoyances I'll try to sort out, but they're minor issues. First, mitigation displays wrong (I think). It says it's at 15% when all ships have a max of 0%. Maybe there's a base shield mitigation that I have to tweak, or maybe it just doesn't want to display a 0. Secondly, you'll have to build your frigate factory manually, so that takes a bit of time, I can't seem to figure out how to make that work (tried modding galaxyscenariodef and that didn't work, so the answer might be something else, maybe the planet_____home files). Planets are still stock sins but with the gravity wells doubled. That's pretty much the essential stuff for now.

Hi Peeps!
First of all, i am an end-user, with years of playing Battlefleet Gothic behind me. I follow ewery rumour about getting the tabletop game into a video game, so i ran into this topic. Your work was so impressive for me, that i tryed out the mothergame, Sins. After also having years of playing X3 REUNION PC game behind me, Sins appears wery boring. I realise that this game is not about good looking graphics but i yearn for more, altough i will be happy with any kind of playable BFG PC game. Your models sofar are good enough and i want them see in action soon. Until now these models are the most detailed playable 3D models i've seen (apart Mechmaster's), so keep up the good work! I have hope inyou!

Okay, I'm starting the damage type work now, should release sometime this afternoon. I just realized that I'll have to give the pirates chaos ships, so that pleasant surprise is in for all you guys. The part of the game I'm most interested in input on is spams that are almost unstoppable (evil spam, I'll try to fix it if it's a spamfest), pacing (very important, I want to know if you're overwhelmed or need a book), general fairness, and of course glitches (I'm testing everything as it goes in, so that shouldn't happen). Research tree will come in later, that's a bit bigger, and I want that to be looked at separately. Graphical improvements will come when they do, so don't be surprised if all of a sudden things look better :p. Hope you don't mind that the prow WBs are locked port (that's left), it's the only way they can work without a custom arc, and given that the ships fire that broadside by default it doesn't cost you much firepower.

Yay! (I'm guessing im allowed to test the mod?) And yes, im in Perth WA. I think I told you this ages ago, back when I was 'GalacticaCAG'. I wrote that pirates story;)But I wont be surpriised if you dont remember, it was AGES ago. This thread on BFG is what got me started! I now have 2000 IN fleet and 1500 SM fleet thanks to you guys =D

Yes, you did tell us you were an aussie. I believe I remembered you complaining about how bad the postage on your fleet was going to be shipping it there, and I agreed wholeheartedly. Don't worry, the second I'm done, I'll PM you a link or see if I can get a mail address for you so you get it right away. Right now, the damage types are kicking my rear.

Yah, I know, I just figured you might like to know the trade is prompt, cause I haven't seen you in a few posts (come to think of it that's like hours) :p. (testing)

EDIT: Mah Strings asploded! One second while I figure out why English.str hates me.

EDITAGAIN: Well, it's a minidump problem on startup, and the strings are good until you get the error prompt. Wonder what's really causing it?

I think it's bug free, but don't don't don't mouse over the missile research. It crashes the game, but I need it so torps and bombers work right. Grr.... Anyway, have fun, but I won't write anything explaining what stuff does till tomorrow. Will post that once it's done.

Sweet, I just got in a fight, and I can now confirm all ordnance ignores shields. Also, it's rather likely to find itself on the receiving end of a nerf.

No, not all of them. You may find the research tree looks barer than that christmas tree you retroactively declare a shrine to nurgle in February and there's only one of the things left. Also, I had a problem with hotmail's virus scanner, so I sent it again with my school email. Tell me if you got it.

The Beta patch doesn't support mods yet. I don't think it will until it is the 1.1 FINAL.

So there aren't custom models yet? And theres only Chaos? (so this is like a cost/Chaos balancing test?)

models are very close but we just need to sort a few minor problems with the importing (we think it wont work unless we have textures so untill i or someone else gets to and puts the textures on it wont work)
as soon as thats done we will have new models for all our testerers to play with

p.s. did you send spartan a test version too?

It doesnt work with 1.1???? Awwww, damn it, I just got it! Is there anyway for me to make 'two' Sins on my computer, and leave one of them at 1.05?
