Sins Of Slop Editor
An AI made Sins Rebellion editor for those who still lurk here and can't stop modding
https://github.com/TobiWahnKenobi/SinsOfSlopEditor
After not doing anything for my mod for years I was wondering if I could make my life easier with AI. So I tasked Claude to create a sins editor for me. And it does quite a few thing my first editor from 10 years ago built on FileMaker could not.
Key features:
- Reads your mod folder and any number of additional "base" folders (i.e. the base game and mods loaded before your current mod). It uses enabled.txt as default but you can change it on startup (and it then remembers for your mod). This is important for mods that use SinsRemastered as base
- Lets you edit all entity files and also change strings right from the entity files
- Checks for problems in your files and also in your logs
- also can apply some fixes automatically with the click of a button
- checks for potential AI problems
- Visual research tree editor
- Brushes editor
- Mesh viewer
- View your mesh using the ingame shaders or a cell shader
- choose your background, rotation, sun angle and distance and save them
- create images from this viewer and save them as file or as an existing brush (overwrite brush)
- use an existing brush as background or any arbitrary image
- show or hide hardpoints
- show particles including particle meshes (rotating sections and such)
- scale meshes to a factor to resize a mesh to xxx meters
- Resizing also resizes connected particle meshes
- Tabbed interface so you can have multiple tabs opened at once
Since this is wholly AI generated (with my input of course) use with caution on a copy of your mod. Source code published under GPL-3.
There is a discord channel on the SOTYR server, link is on github.
