some beta 4 feedback

some beta 4 feedback

Hi all, im new to the community.
Ive been playing since the second beta but only bothered to preorder the game yesterday so i can play the last beta.

Anyway, here are some bugs and stuff i found in the last beta.

First thing, i played 2 large random games now and i noticed the starsystems being placed kinda close to eachother making them sort of overlaps and this really messes up the background and pictograms, like i cant see any pictograms around some planets and sometime u rotate the camera around a planet but because the other planet from a neighbor starsystem is so close the pictograms and stuff of that planet show up and its really impossible to manage some outer planets.

anyway thats all i found sofar.

this game rulez....

I very very rarely want to buy a game brand new, Though I do agree games will hit 100$ plus for the standard models soon enough....Prices are going up en masse on the special edition's of games eg. the 3rd installment of a very popular fps in the US at least its Legendary Edition was 129.99.....anyway I do have to agree pirating is bad but at the same time wasting a load of money on something that completely sucks is also bad.....And my final say is Congratulations to Ironclad and Stardock for making something I want to go to ex. Gamestop and Preorder ....and I want the Collectors Edition at that

My personal favorite option is to just charge me a monthly fee paid annually or semiannually and give me full access to any products in the companies catalog.

Ugh, I don't want to rent my software anymore than I want to rent my music, thanks :(

You are reading a lot into it as well as mixing apples and oranges to boot. In short there are many possible applications of such a system. Additionally SD already has something similar in place and it works rather well from my perspective.

Not the point. I don't object to paying for updates, if it's needed.

I object to losing access to purchased software if I don't pay a fee. It has it's place -- it works well for things like Gametap. But in general? No way.

That's well known, reported, and fixed internally. [/quote]

Hi, I'm new to the forums but I've been in the beta since beta 3. Anyway, my question is what do you mean by 'fixed internally'? I'm dying to play the large random maps again and I havn't been able to since beta 4.

Fixed internally means that it is fixed for their next release, whether it be another beta (ex: Something fixed internally after beta 1s release but before beta 2 release would be included in the release of beta 2) or the final game.

It means that while the devs know about it, and have corrected the issue in their source files, they haven't released a patch or updated build with the correction.

It could be boiled down with the phrase "wait for the patch"... except at this point, general consensus is we aren't getting a patch.

Just release, in 45 days, six hours, and one minute.

I for one, hope IC gives us a nice X-mas present in the form of an update. Should we expect anything less from such a community oriented developer? I think not. :d
