How you can help!

SINS is finally here!
The enthusiasm of everyone here has been a real inspiration during development. The magic of multiplayer is going to depend on strong community leadership. Our mission now is to hit critical mass so the community is able sustain itself.  We want to see the forum, ICO, and IRC traffic continue to ramp up so that there will be an abundance of players of all skill levels ready to play!

@Joker - There are plenty of reviews now on-line you can checkout. There is a thread in these forums that indexes them or you can check on the main web page for links as well. I also suggest reading the topic here as well for a perspective from a normal players view.

If that is not sufficient enough to entice then suicide is really your best option. Also please dont forget to leave a note. After all any publicity is good publicity. Then you too will be doing your part to spread the word.

We have pretty much sorted our forums out... You can easily say 101% Sins dedicated just by looking at it :HOT:

Very cool brother.

BTW: I made a couple news threads. The most important of them is that Sins is now the #3 best selling PC title in the North America market. :HOT: A nice seven place jump over last week. Who knows maybe next #1. Remember:

This is Sins!!!!

@Nephilim - No worries brother. Your guys challenge my guys to a contest to help create some buzz.

I recently gave Sins a plug on Wired in a story about a new "save the PC alliance". The post is here.

On a side note regarding the EU distributor situation, there are two avenues I would travel if I were SD/IC with regards to building the hype factor (in the English language arena) with industry oriented sites. I would go into details about a promotional plan but I'm sure the people at SD know what to do. Anyway the venues I would choose are:

Develop Mag
http://www.developmag.com/

Games Industry Biz
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/

In related news, The Escapist has released its special SciFi edition today. I was so hoping for something about Sins in it given the perfect timing of it. I'm aware last year when I informed IC about it the deadline was already missed for normal articles but I kept hoping that something could have been worked out as an extended editorial by Frogboy or the Fraser brothers.

(lol sorry to be a grumpy bum, but I want to play it now, not 3 months after it's released!
ie. My Thread)

I use my personal credibility as a voucher for the title. I ask them the following:
Do you trust me?
Do you trust my judgment?
Do you trust my reasoning skills?

Then I ask them a couple more 'yes' questions like:
Do you think I know you?
Do you think I know quality when I see it?

Followed by a couple 'no' questions like:
Do you think I would give you bad advice intentionally?
Do you think I would risk our friendship for something trivial?

Then I ask the big question "are you going to get it then?" which leads them to the only reasonible conclusion they can have which is buying the game.

For direct questions about game play I tell them "it is something you should experience first hand because I dont want to ruin any of it for you."

It works every time in my case.

Is Sins available in German? My cousin still lives in Germany and I know he's into the SciFi RTS genre... I could get the ball rolling there. This seems right up German RTS players alley's!

Anyone can do that stuff without having a propensity for law or a degree in it (like me). All that is necessary are three optional course offered in college but some high schools offer them in AP and gifted programs. They are:

1. Argumentation & Debate
2. Persuasive speech & Public Speaking
3. Logical Reasoning (formal and informal)

If you take those course and do well in them, I guarantee you will see the world differently. You could talk like Perry Mason any day of the week and the ladies would be like clay in your hands as well as your friends for that matter. Those classes surely are the best ones to take in school.

Hey everyone, i recently got the Sins demo, and i love the game. i am seriously considering buying it...the only thing thats putting me off is the lack of a campaign and the ridiculously long gameplay times (I'm in college, so i dont really have 3 hours to spare at a time for video gaming).

Would you still recommend i buy it? does the lack of a campaign really hurt the game that much?

Depends on who you ask. I don't mind, but they do seem to be making one for an expansion.

Saves are very useful in Sins. Though most of the smaller maps can be finished at around an hour and a half or less from what I hear. And there are speed options and single player can be sped up with the + and - keys.

Would you still recommend i buy it?

Of course. Just remember to patch the game.

Love the Marza Dreadnought banner. But I really could do with a Vasari Carrier or the TEC Battleship.

Kol Battleship.

This shall be our finest hour.

Sins of a Solar Empire.

Perfect. Simply perfect.

sounds good, ill go out and pick it up asap!

I will spread the word. Be 100% sure you like the game because stardock won't let you transfer your serial to someone else if you hate it.

Also remember to mention the new mini-expansions coming out! I told a few friends who knew nothing about them!

Spreading the word really helped. Ironically, I got here because of the Spore DRM. In a forum debate somewhere about that DRM, someone mentioned 'Stardock' and 'Sins of a Solar Empire', and that the company does not use DRM and that the space phase in Spore wasn't nearly as good as 'Sins of a Solar Empire'. So my boyfriend and me checked the game out, tried the demo, and then bought the game online, because we both liked it.

We're both pleasantly surprised, and we can't wait for the expansion to come out :)

Thanks Aryanna!  Glad you liked the game! The expansion is going to be pretty sweet.
