Not exactly surprising. Pirates will always be up within a few days of a release if not BEFORE. *shrug* No big deal. I would love if we could catch them and stop them from multiplayer..from the lobby anyway.

Pirates copies don't have a legal cd key so they won't be able to play Multiplayer, or download any patches/updates.

Also, I JUST GOT MY SERIAL! Whooooooooo. Didn't even have to reg, all nice and tight in my little stardock central family tree!

Lol. So you think man. You'd be surprised the kind of intelligence that is behind some of these groups.

I know all about pirate groups. Since SD patches through Stardock Central, though, it would be somewhat difficult for them to get patches, though.

Not that such a post even deserves a reply......

While I don't necessarily agree with the pirates methods, I don't see what the big deal is if pirates are limited to Singleplayer skirmishes anyways. Some pirates might even buy the game anyways. It's not like we've had any demo of the game yet.

Everyone should have serials soon, since I ordered yesterday and have it now.

Wanted to add to my post, but someone beat me to making a new post :P

I for one intend on buying the game, but at this time I am strapped for cash. From what i've heard from friends and from what i've seen in the pics and videos thus far, It's definitely gonna be a great game. That, and I need to buy the game anyways to assist on making a Trek mod on it :P

Tell me why? , i can't be stealing because i've offically bought it... As soon as i get my serial key which should've happened ages ago because my preorder meant nothing to them.

Of course it deserves a reply. If you have paid money for the game, just download it and play. If you're not satisfied as a customer, you're in your right to make sure you are satisfied. Maybe not completely in your legal right, but laws are merely guidelines anyway, and everyone (yes, even you) skirt the edges of them all the time.

1.) Since when is a pre-release demo necessary? It's not, so quit whining about that. There's already been a plethora of open feedback thanks to the betas, and if you're really up in the air about the game, hold off the whooooole month (OMG ur liek gonna diez...please) for the demo. Simple.

2.) It's a big deal because they're still stealing a product, and far more importantly, stealing a product from a pair of companies that have been advocating for DRM free software. Smooth move...

Lulz. They can get the patches eventually, they won't be able to play multiplayer until they get their own servers.

if i download from the torrent can i use my legit activation code on it or not?
Sure, please include your credit card number too so the trojan, keylogger and other crap that's being installed with it gets all your bank info. ;)
Yarlen generally thats a myth nowadays , you have to get it from some pretty shaddy place
for that to happen to you :)

If you send the key to me which was supposed to be spent AGES ago and not ( processing )
then i can get it officialy now. Even though i've payed for it :(

I wasnt whining about it. You really need to learn the definition of what constitutes whining.

Yeh cus that happens lol :p sad fact is most illegal downloads for games are cleaner (none of the crap you listed and no DRM software), quicker and easier then their legal counterparts. While only one of those is true for SINS (as it has no DRM) its still an awful lot slower then downloading from say rapidshare.

Yarlen , give stardock a kick and process my order so i can have my key... Bought it ages ago now :(

lol, a guy who's name is "pirateNeilsouth" complaining about piracy? :D

My bad, I must have lumped you in with the people who have been whining about there not being a demo released before the game, despite developers stating why they chose to do a post-release demo. Interpret my post as a more general post to that issue rather than you specifically.

I don't know what you are talking about,

My DL speed is between 450-600 kb/s. At this rate it won't take more then half hour for the DL. If only I had the key now!! :)

I have to admit I did consider pirating the game and use it as a demo, but I've heard so many great things about this game from people I trust (like the guys at PC Gamer, and GFW), that it didn't feel necessary. With the weak dollar I really didn't have anything to lose when I pre-ordered.

I've convinced two of my friends to pre-order as well (one of them isn't even interested in the game, he just wants to support Stardock's no-DRM policy), but a third is a bit strapped for cash, so he -is- going to download it illegally and demo it first. If he likes it, we're probably going to chip in and get it for him as a belated birthday present.

It's amazing how narrow-minded some people are when it comes to piracy. It's never a black and white situation.
