Homeworld renders only several dozen ships.
Err.. no. Homeworld (or do you mean Homeworld 2?) could easily have over a hundred ships on the screen at the same time. It's not to the same scale as sins, but it's not as bad a comparison as the post implies.
The first post is dramatically unfair. It takes one of the worst Homeworld 2 screenshots I've seen and puts it up against a perfectly framed Sins "screenshot" that I think may have been retouched but doesn't even look like the current game engine (how do you make a media centre
tilt, and what's with the traffic on the planet's surface?). If you want to do a side-by-side comparison, record some high-resolution combat footage. Sins will still *win* IMO, but when you see a Homeworld 2 Hiigaran corvette actually fly in 3d around a capital ship, blasting with its 3d mobile turret that casts a shadow on itself, it's hard to diss the graphics that were provided with that now-old game.
If you're going to compare, at least be objective about it.
