Colony Ships

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to find out how many people you put on a colony ship, once it has been launched into space? Also is there a trick to using the population slider for loading the colony ships? I get down to about 400 million and then it just blips to zero,with no in between. There are some times I would like to put only 100 or 200 million on a ship, and that is impossible right now.

Click on the ship. The ship details at the bottom of the screen will tell you how many people are on the ship. Should be written in yellow text.

The slider works based on percentages of that system's population. You'll have an easier time putting few colonists on the ship if you build it at a system with a smaller population. It's something I'd like to see improved as well.

yeah, it really should works as a percentage of one billion, since that's the maximum number on the ship.
