Survey Ships

Why does my survey ship ignore anomalies when it's on auto survey? On a small map it's no problem looking for anomalies uncovered by a different ship, but on Large or higher, it's a drag.
I also keep seeing it (when it does work) drive right by an anomaly that's closer to get to another that's further away? Can I just fire the captain?

I have noticed the same thing, but don't know why. I think that it drives by them because it has just uncovered them and didn't see them before (right?) You cannot fire the captian.

It will survey the anomalies it uncovered first. If it uncovered one (on manual) way across the galaxy, and some other Alien's survey or whatever ship uncovers another one sector from your homeworld, it still will go across the galaxy to explore the first one it uncovered, then in proceeding order of finding. Only way to stop this is to either control it manually, or build another survey ship.

Erm, it kept saying "Error Processing Page" so I just kept trying to submit my message ...oh well.

Can I fire AT the Captain? How about if I just wing him?
I understand that it has on order of surveying the anomalies. Sometimes I manually stop the ship, take it off auto, re-order the autosurvey command and it does the same thing. Then again, sometimes it just changes course for a closer anomaly on it's own.
In addition, sometimes it will just sit there ignoring anomalies altogether. It forces me to manually search the galaxy every few turns looking for new anomalies. I often find some, and the ship is still just sitting there with auto-survey on doing nothing.

Seen similar, but consistantly I've also noticed it perfers to abtain the gasy or glowing orb sort of anomolies before going after the spinning junk anomoloies (as if last priority?). Those improve the ship's abilities. I wish there were a way to make it examine certain anomolies according to type priority. I find myself occassionaly turning off auto in order to violently force the survey ship captain to snag up the junk stuff he tends to skip - then back to auto.

It will eventually go for the anomally , you just have to make sure the other races anomally ships are gone ^_^

I have seen it head for an anomally 2-3 sectors away and then after passing by an anomally it will on the next turn turn around and pick it up. It seems like it reevaluates after moving for that turn, should either bee befor each move or befor moving for that turn. Once, just once I have had it change cource in mid move to grab an anomally, that time it had stopped moving so I selected an anomally for it, but on the way there it uncovered another anomally and went after it.

Finaly a few points:
Why on earth (or in space) does it go after the warp points first when there is a cluster of anomallies right beside it?

And why can't it be set to "auto explore" thereby uncovering the galaxy without my help (this would also be relevant for scouts and sensor drones)

An ignore list would e nice as well, so that I could tell it to not go for those worm egs.

I know it won't be fixed/added to this version of the game, but would be nice for GC2

It would be nice to have an auto-explore i've been thinking bout that. But they are workin ghard on Galciv II so we can wait I guess :)

Won't go for those "worm eggs," lol; yep, a priority check list would be nice. Agreed. If those eggs contained some good things, they might a little harder to skip, however.
