Cannot get an interview

In the last 3 campaigns, I have not been interviewed once. How do I get an interview? or What am I doing wrong?

You have to go to the state that has the little TV camera that matches your party's color. Maybe you're going to the wrong state, or just not seeing them! They just don't happen automatically, but they occur every 6 or 7 weeks.

Also, unlike question marks, the camera is only around for 1 turn, if you miss it, you miss it.
