It happens whether I am using a mod or not.

No, no one can tell you why you're getting a Minidump every 5 minutes, because you didn't provide any information whatsoever.

If you're running a Vista machine with a nVidia card, try updating to their latest 169.44 drivers and turning Bloom off.

If you're running an ATI machine, try their latest drivers.

If you're running XP, no idea right now.

Next time provide a bit more info on what's going on...

I have the same problem. I am running Windows XP, and currently have v1.02 installed. I can get to the main menu and can start to load a game. Then it goes to the loading screen, the bar fills up a little, and then get a minidump. I have used mods, but I tried turning them off. I still get the same error.

ok, so after a lot of screwing around i found my whole problem... Pirates. If i deactivated pirates, no problem occured. Ran an SP game for about 5 hours without a crash. If I activate pirates, I crash right before a raid is launched. This is the same with or without mods. I went even further and screwed around with the max pirate supply limit and found that the higher that is, the sooner I crash. I am running WinXP, intel core2 6700, 3gb of ram, 8800gts.

I used to get the mini-dump problems back in 1.02 and that was only when I was activating mods manually instead of having them turn on when I start the game. I haven't got any mini-dumps since. The only thing I can think of if it is crashing even without mods is to do a complete uninstall and a fresh install. I am running Win XP Pro, 2gb of ram, 8600 GT, AMD Athlon X2 2.8ghz

:D Amazingly, that worked. Can't believe it was something THAT simple! Thank you very much!

I have never installed any mods. I have played with and without pirate. I have reinstalled many many times. I can only conclude the mini dumps here are not the same as mine.

ok, no one has told me anything that has helped with the minidump problem. I have no mods, i have reinstalled, driver updates, opening the game in launcher, run in windowed mode, turned all graphical things off including bloom, turned off some of the user settings, and i have changed my pf file usage. and yet noting has worked. So is there absolutely anything that can be done so i can play this game without minidump errors. oh yea and i just downloaded the 1.69 driver update for nvidia cards for xp, and 5 minutes into the game, Minidump error. So far nothing has worked and i would really like to play this game on multiplayer.

I get a black scren like I am loading.. then nothing!.... press the windows and stop the program, then "mini dump" error.

So its not only him.

Back to playing EVE, since this game is obviously in dire need of patch  :d

same here. It seems to me Stardock doesnt know whats wrong. If they did there would be a universal fix for it, but instead i get " send us your minidump and save file".

AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core 3600+ 2.01ghz

My games play fine on single player..... As soon as I try to run a LAN game connected to 2 computers in my home the joining computer suffers Mini-Dump problems. The host computer dose not. Mini-dump seem to accure randomly.... sometimes we can play for an hour...sometimes 5 minutes before it dumps.

Host Machine:

Win XP sp2 (updated)
Core Duo2 Extream 2.93 mhz (not overclocked)
2 XFX 8800 GTX 786mb vid cards SLI ( total vid memory 1572 mb )
8 Gig of Dual Channel Ram
X-fi Gamer Soundcard

Joining Machine:

Win XP sp2 (updated)
Core Duo 2 2.6 mhz ( Not overclocked)
Evga 7950 GT 1 gig Vid Card
4 Gig of Dual Channel Ram
X-fi Game Soundcard

Both machine have all updated drivers, and are more then capable to running most games, if not all. Both machines run SINS perfectly single player. However connected to my HUB with fire walls turned off, the joining computers always mini-dumps eventualy. (sorry if I repeated myself.... its late :) )

My conclusion, this is a problem with SINs multiplayer software, and not my hardware... im pretty sure anyway. My 2 cents!

same here. after i receive the first minidump during gameplay, trying to restart the game will immediately execute another minidump. I have to restart my computer to enter the game again, and this only lasts for a random amount of time before another dump.

This is kind of hinting to me that this problem is with memory allocation in some way. Because the problem temporarily goes away after a reboot (until a few minutes/hours of gameplay), there's probably something lingering main memory or cache, or page filing, and causing conflict once this something loads and doesn't release. This would make sense, since the problem is so pandemic, across all platforms and video cards. And there's a veritable fruitbasket of causes. I'd suggest forget about the dxdiag info and start looking at memory managment.

This line has just become my "quote of the day"  :CONGRAT:

I mean, I know the "minidump" issue isn't anything to make light of, I just love the simple eloquence of said line.

Fix for minidump issue. This fix, if applied correctly should alleviate the problem for all users regardless of computer spec or reason for minidumps...

Step 1:

Reformat Hard drive

Step 2:

Reinstall WinXP from scratch... No Vista

Step 3:

Update all Drivers

Step 4:

Install Sins. Important Note: DO NOT install any other software.

That should do it....

Done all these things, nothing has helped, Im convinced this is a coding problem on the SINs side.

Stardock needs to stop developing whatever the next game is and start actually "bug" testing the one they released. Poor release's and press by people who buy up front have been known to kill some "really" good games, and I honestly believe this one of those truly great games... IF I could get mine to WORK !

One thing I do believe is that they are working on it. I just have not heard anything about it. Which is not uncommon in the industry. They don't know what it is yet and wont say anything until they do. IMHO, anyway.

Your problem is not as common as you'd like to believe. I have had one crash in the entire time I've played the retail game.
