How to make money

Strategy to make money

Hello,

I'm new to this great game but unfortunatly, I don't know how to make money to expend my fleet and my empire. Only my home planet has green tax income, and if I understand well it says that if I add pop on other planet, I will even make less money.


How can I get more tax income.. what are the other way of making money beside black market ?

Update planetary tiles with more people, at least one upgrade to break even, slowly but surely you can expect to see more green. Look for them little green buttons, small pun intended.

Newly colonized planets will be a drain on your income until you upgrade them a level or two. The button you want for that is the first one in the planet upgrades panel. After that point they will give you income. You can also build trade ports and sell resources to get money as well.

In the beginning taking new planet I leave defenders (killing planet bombers) on orbit and start develop planet. Cant build orbital structures but planet infrastructure is no problem. I also rush to get broadcast, trade and refinery. Strong economy first is my priority.

Broadcast stations will increase the loyalty to the planet it based in as well as nearby planets correct? Does this lead to more income?

As for the refinery, I read the description but how does it work? Do these vessels get resources within it's own system or do they have to leave the system and find neutral collectors?
