Halo MOD?

Halo MOD?

Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

Well I could talk to Blamtroid or DanMan to get them to texture it but I just had another idea. Can you possibly do the ONI stealth prowler next? There are no known designs for it, so you'll have to make it up from scratch.

How did a CCS look like the Great Fox? ;)

Put in as much detail as you want, just keep it within 3,000-5,000 polygons for the Frigates and 10,000 for the Capital ships. Also I found a texturer, so he can definately skin it for you.

How did a CCS look like the Great Fox?

I'm still figuring out this XSI and all the tools it has for modelling. I know what I want to do, but finding it is a different story...

Is there a easy way to find out poly count in XSI? I'm making it pretty simply for now, I'll post pics when I'm done and I wanna get some feedback.

Nice model of the ship! I actually thought of how to incorporate the flood into the game. Lets say you play as flood and you will start out with two ships or morphers i like to call them because they build through morphing (you can make more out of the frigate factory or a spore colony or something) and their planets that they control will have an eirie and greenish glow (cool ?) And their nice ability is that when a ship's shields are down they can infest it and take control of it. It will really make players start the shield researching. Now their ships are going to be weak but cheap, resistant more to laser and energy weapons but more vulnerable to gause and autocanon damage, this will make the flood player research like armor or shell upgrades for their ships. For their super weapon maybe they can launch like an infested asteroid or flood mass through space, this will slowly infest any planet and give it under your control.

Now every ship should be able to send flood spores down to a planet to capture o damage it. The flood attacks can be like again shooting small infested projectiles at enemy ships.

For the appearance of thei ships they will have to look fleshy and disgusting. But the infested ships of enemies look the same except they should have growth of flood on them.

These are all the ideas I have so far, hope it helps. :)

i notaced that allmost all of u guys are all halo fans but this dude is right we need a halo mod also there r more then that for ships i basicly skimed through it but i did not see any pelicans, longswords, banshees, serafs, unsc spaceports, covi spaceports, covi dropships, and more but thats it.

This is a space mod.  There will be Seraphs and Longswords, plus dedicated bombers for each side.  Banshees are incapable of spaceflight so they will not be in this.  The dropships will be used as siege weapons.  By that I mean instead of the UNSC siege ship launching nuclear warheads, it will launch Pelicans as its standard attack, and the Covenant will launch Phantoms.  The dropships will be used as the planet bombing weapons for the siege ships basically.  And spaceports are planet-based installations.  Since Sins is space-only, they cannot be included.

This remainds me a ton of a Halo mod for Freelancer... they have great models over there, though the developers won't allow their models to be reused in any other mod projects, aside from those established in all three Halo games (Halcyon Cruiser, Marathon Cruiser, Apocalypse Frigate, Covenant Assault Carrier, CCS Battlecruiser, etc.)

The Covie Dreadnought had a beam which traveled at light speed, at long range, and could bisect five UNSC ships in one blast (from The Fall of Reach). I suppose you could make that an ultimate ability... just make its damage absurdly high, but AM cost and cooldown time just as absurdly high. Covie Assault Carriers also carried a beam weapon, though not as powerful as the DN's beam, could still inflict catastrophic damage on an enemy ship.

Alternately, instead of using dropships for the Covenant for planet bombing, how about their gravity lift projectors? There is a cutscene in Halo 2 where an Assault Carrier uses its gravity lift to inflict damage upon Delta Halo, intended to kill the Prophet of Regret.

Seeing the Unyielding Heirophant would be epic... though to implement a mobile base like that just further tips the scale in favour of the Covenant... unless you use it as a Starbase equivalent of the Covies.

I always remembered it as Covenant Weapons (except for Energy Sword) were terrible against the Flood but Human weapons were great.

shotguns ruled!!!!  i like the idea and we did see in halo 3 that the flood sent chunks of rock with flood on it at ships.  we also read in ghosts of onyx that the flood did take covenant ships from delta halo and we see in halo 3 a ccs crash on earth.  i think his idea is in the right place for this and it is canon (to most extent).  i understand that we want this to be as canon as possible but we need to be allowed some creative license with this stuff and i think some of that was the best idea for the flood ive heard.  as for the flood building ships i think thats a different story and for them taking ships withought sheilds well we cant do that either (humans dont have shields)  we could rather do a damage percentage with that one were the ship has to have a lot of damage(aka holes for the bastards to slip into the ship from)

Well the idea was probably in everybodies head but it just wont work... well according to cannon, once a planet is takin by flood how r u going to get it bck???

then is u take the super weapon idea, the game is over.... done... But havin the flood as an AI like the pirates hanging around some planets, will b awesome.... taking over Ships kind of like the pirates, but the infections forming on the ships wud b cool, but tht wud need to make alot more models of ships (b4 infection/after infection).. I dont think tht wud b easy and atleast not for the first release... right now im dyin to see the mod....

first time browsing the forums and found this thread..a halo mod would be a perfect compliment to SINS..i also read that you were looking for a good longsword fighter reference..i found this site http://nikon.bungie.org/misc/sloftus_longswordtour/ and looking at the pictures it give some good detail on the..well..detail of the ship..and some pics you just gotta think symmetry...hope this helps..i'll keep looking for ship references as well
