Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

There is no picture of the prowler, but I imagine it as a frigate, half the size, with only one of the outward support beams that has the MAC cannon.

I was thinking corvettes for the area of scouting. They are small enough to fit inside a SMAC hanger and are the fastest ships the UNSC has.

For the Covanant bombardment, change the Vasari bombardment beam to blue, and that should be good. Prowlers are smaller than the standard frigate, so perhaps they could be the scout, and later be upgraded with the stealth such as the Vasaris phasic-cloaking.

Actually it would be more or a redish purple tint (check out halo3 if you don't believe me).

It goes from blue upon firing to reddish purple when it hits its target. I was just looking at it.

Don't Covenant bombard with plasma? So a modified Advent bombardment or plasma shot would work better. A nice big ball of plasma with a nice particle-heavy trail behind it. Covenant ship plasma is red isn't it? Or blue would work also.

When Ezraeil supplied us with a CCS class, I tried to make the bomnardment plasma. Covenant plasma ranges from purple to blue to red, I think

yeah, sry my bad. The Advent fire some sort of missle called a Kinetic Bolt. The Vasaris beam would be more realistic.

Plus I like the look of it =)
In halo 3, I was watching Acendent Justice in the level "The Covanent", and it was firing blue plasma, thats why i said blue. I HAVE seen it red and purple tho.

sry for the double post.

I've made a custom map and named it "Covanent space". It has roughly 12 stars, 900 planets, and I plan to upload some of the ship models so I can try to see if it works. Only problem is, is that it gets SUPER laggy.
If I can figure how do upload it and download ship models, ill let u guys know.

Update:
hey i tried to use my frigate model but it was unstable so I am using the frigate models that Blamtroid (the leader of our sister mod: Covenant at War)provided; as well as the destoyer, SMAC, and marathon. He has even offered to skin them for me so within a few days to a week we will be seeing a whole lot of progress!

BTW someone made a post for my mod (without my notification, but hey i don't have a problem with it)

EXCELLENT :CONGRAT:  Sister Mod? For what?

I haven't actually played Halo3 so there might be stuff I missed. I'm just getting stuff from the cinematics that I downloaded. When the CCS's are glassing Africa after the flood attack, I saw red, blue, and purple.

Yeah its Covenant at War I'm beta tester for it and so I approached him about helping me out. Blamtorid (the leader of CaW) is creating most of the models and skins, DanMan is rigging the models with hardpoints, and I am the coder/modeler/leader. It's a good system  ;)

If its so good, when can we see a release? No offense CanadaMan, we all really want to blow up Covenant ships. I'm looking forward to the Homeworld 2 Halo mod whenever it comes out especially because that will be more like Halo IMO. Plus missile swarms just look cooler there.

I know you want to blow shit up but you need to hold off on me for a litle bit. I just started this mod and only started talking with Blamtroid a week or two ago, tops. It will be a little bit before you see a public beta from me but I'm fairly certain that you will have something to play with a lot sooner than you think  ;)

hey man these r some awsome ideas!!!!
hey i was thinkin tht the Prowlers shud have stealth ability so long as they dont open fire and use any abilities.... Plus did u remember to put the Huge stealth warship tht was the main center of operations for UNSC.. there shud b a seperate limit for how many u can make of those(lesser than normal capital ships)...
Ohh and dont forget my fav part of the UNSC!!! The Nuke mines!!! IF u hav tht ability in the UNSC battle ships game play will really change and it provides whole new tactic..

The orbital MAC GUNS and weaker UNSC Ships will make them stronger at defence..
Plus i think tht covinent shud not get and planet defence guns.... as they r not in the story... So since they hav really strong ships tht wud make them their attack strong and their defence weak....

Ship sheilds shud b a last defense UNSC upgrade available..
Lastly i think matydom shud b put in UNSC Upgrades.. so tht when they r low on life and close to the enemy crashing their ship in to another flagship becomes an option...

Ohh yeh and i wanted to know one really important thing..
IF i put this mod or anyothr mod can i remove it again???
actually i wud really like to see this mod kind of like an expansion pack with a differnt icon to click on(If its possible)....

Oh yeh and someone's idea of boarding parties is gr8!!! I think tht upgrades for the boarding parties will b good.. and there might not b need for a special colony vessel..
Most flagships hav dorships a raiding party can b takin as a colonisation if it lands on a freshly leveled or uncolonized planet....

Hey boarding parties shud b able to capture ships instead of just destroying them!! it wud b cool!!! If the ship is not tht badly damaged then the boarding parties shud capture them!! but there shud b a option of destroying them which wud b faster than capturing..

Plus!! imagine the tech tree upgrades for ur boardin parties!!!
1)Dorships upgrade and Pilot training (Marines r able to invade enemy planets)
2)Advanced Space suits for Marines (Marines r able to board enemy ships)
3)ODST Troop Integration (increases speed and effectiveness of ship & planet capture)
4)ODST Drop PODS (Faster and more chances of geting troops on the ground)
5)ODST Light Deflective suits (Increases speed and effectiveness of ship & planet capture)
4)Spartans among us (Spartans leads boarding and Invasion parties)
5)Spartan Squads (Spartan squads are the center fighting force for ground troops)

Oh yeh by the way a just remembered u were putin nukes right( hopefully the mines too) :HOT:
dont forget the EMP blast ok?? coz tht really important :)
ohh yeh and one more reason y UNSC will b betr at defending is tht the Covinent ships r powered down aftr a slipstream jump(plz try to edit audio to make them say slipstream jump in stead of phaze jump) so there is a couple of secs tht the ships r sitting ducks to attacks(murder fest):P
