Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

yo canada i think i might have something ill go into testing it tomorrow, if i get over this cold.  the visari and human superweapons.  the visari, if i remember correctly, targets all defensive items in orbit and the navalith targets the planets.  we might be able to combine the two.  though, i dont know how to make it destroy all life in the galaxy.  in theory if my memory serves me right there are abilities that slow down ships in phase space so adding an effect to target the phase lanes should cover slipspace too.  once again dont know if it will work  but its worth a shot.  might need to get a couple of people instant messaging eachother to work on each property required and on how to make it target the solar system.

Good work dinoff. I still haven't update to 1.1 yet (captkeyes and I are gong to make the jump to 1.1 this weekend, hopefully) so l don't know if there's any new coding goodies in there as well. Keep diggin' on that halo ability, we'll get it one day.

Coding goodies in 1.1?  More capital ship slots, more sound slots, and abilities can cost resources.  So instead of nuke balance based only on antimatter and cooldown, you can have nukes also drain your bank accounts.

hey canada also i was thinking.  it we make halo a planet.  it takes care of the capturing problem, we can also give it the visari return fleet ablity for the flood,  there is an advent ability that alows the capture of ships so the flood could make trouble for the owner of halo.

 

i never really noticed in the files that you gave me canada but does the shiva ability that we made do area damage or single target only.  im still running on 1.05 because i have no idea how to make the files in a readable format.  by the way i have a bad head cold so i wont be able to work on halo due to the fact that i cant think for more than 5 min.  but if anyone has any experience there is a thread with all the ability constraints/buffs that exist in the game that we know of. i think this is a job for more than oneperson.  if anyone does want to help we arent worrying about why or how canon it is it just needs to work.

1) Greetings for Spartanburg, SOUTH CAROLINA (on vacation)

2) i noticed that the Shiva is heavily spammable as well as the macs very overpowering. is it possible to make the macs an ability again? cause i like these ships but they done even get to shoot those lovely Archer missles before they rape the defending milita or pirates.

3) mabey sone emitters can be a weapon jammer (highly doubtful)

i think i have finally solved the problem with the way shields work and after testing several values ive got it right.  now all i need are ships to test and balance with.  i have just made a new thread concerning the halo ability.

and just so nobody asks.  we dont know about the expansion its not out yet.  we most likely will but since it has yet to be released we cant know how to mod it.

Yeah we'll most likely make the jump to that easier than the patch from 1.05 to 1.1 because of the art issues.

i apologize to all who are worthy of taking the great journey but the coding of the game makes the halo rings only a twinkle in its fathers eye.  the ability is just not possible because the code will not let us hit multiple systems at once.  and unfortunatly anything that could be tried other than the most obvious is hardcoded and is untouchable.  unless stardock in its mercy teaches us how to make it then its not going to happen.

i apologize again for my bad speech.  my editors editor has now been sacked.  the halo ability cant target more that one planet at any given time and doesnt target indescriminatly.  it works the same way a superweapon does by letting you pick a target and there is no way of changing that.  once again my editors editor has been sacked as well as my editor.   by system i meant plantets and by multiple systems i meant multiple planets.  sorry for the confusion

couldn't you make the mac like the guass rail cannon ability on the TEC's kol battleship?

My new years resolution is to have this mod basically finished up by at least this Summer. Gotta go hop back on it!
