Ships pathfind through pirate city, even once revealed. Scouts keep checking in on pirates.

Look scout, I know what the pirates are doing...

Sometimes when I set rally points to far away fleets, I end up losing all my ships, including capitals, because they all try to pathfind through the pirates. This is very annoying. I end up having to manually tell ships to go around.

Yeah, pirates are there, they're bad. That's all we need to know. No sane single ship goes near them. It's not like we need to check if they've been colonised, at least until the enemy has a big enough fleet to do so.

Hi...

Yes I've had the same problem and it does frustrate me a bit, I've lost a number of ships needlessly because of the 'short cut' through pirate territory...though it is quite funny - I'd prefer it was fixed! I'm sometimes busy with somethin very important and don't notice until its too late :-) oh well nvm!

Keep well.

Not sure what there is to fix. If you set a rally point at a distant planet it will choose the shortest path. Just because the Pirate base is in that path doesn't make it a bug.

So you have a couple choices:
1) Take out the pirate base, problem solved
2) Set a rally point that's off to the "side" of the pirate base. Then once in a while take all the ships in that system and send them off to the front
3) Make a forward base that is creating all your ships. Maybe it's just me but once I've moved forward I don't ever create ships in my core worlds anymore. In fact I usually scuttle them for more research facilities or trade stations. Why take all that time to move ships to the front when you can build a forward base where the ships are created right at the front?

The fix would be to have a way to flag a planetary system to be avoided by autopathing so ships take the longer route. I requested this in the first wishlist I wrote back when we were playing 1.02.

Of course, no one should give bad move orders, but when ships are set to rally to a fleet, it is really annoying when they sometimes shift their route to go through the pirates and you lose a couple ships before you see what is happening. A simple way to flag a system as "Avoid" would be great. Also saves the scouts, though to be honest, I don't even use "auto scout" much anymore for this reason.

Cykur, I just watched you stomp Yinhe. That was masterful! I love how you used the devestator to take that desert planet.
