Why yes OP there is a version for the PS3! First go online, figure out how to install linux on a PS3 then figure out how to run this game in wine and in the mean time RTFFP.

360 is the only console that could run a strategy game with any reasonable ability. However, Sins is too complex even for it to be able to navigate well.

Go watch your Blu Ray movies, lords know you can't expect any games for that system (especially not any good ones).

A RT4x game on a console?   People can barely play RTS games on consoles as it is right now. Every console RTS fails. I can't even fathom an RT4x being on a console. I think we can all agree that certain genres play better on PC and certain genres play better on consoles. There's some that cross platforms, but RTS games and certainly RT4x games are not them.

I exclusively play PC games, but the above comment is solely based on sales data. No matter how elaborate the marketing, strategy games just don't sell well on consoles.

...i didn't expect this many responses. It was a long shot on the ps3 question but the only reason why i asked is i'm currently deciding on whether to buy a xbox or ps3 (i'm a long time pc gaming guy). The reason for my switch is simple:

1. I'm switching from a desktop to a laptop (whoever believes laptops can be gaming powerhouses are only fooling themselves).

2. I'm also going to switch from Windows to Linux (after completing much testing of the various distros). To those who remain fanatical to windows: yes, its incredibly easy to use - but at the price of ones freedom. This is a price i am not willing to pay (not to mention the $800 for vista ultimate; which ironically is about to be superseded by windows 7 in just a couple of years).

3. The amount of money i've spent on the upgrade treadmill to even allow games to properly run on my machine dwarfs that of any amount of a once off expenditure on a console. Wanna buy the next nvidia 9800GTX? You may as well buy 2 xbox's.

4. If I worked the amount of hours i've spent getting games to actually work on windows - i would have earnt enough money to buy Stardock.

I expect many of you to disagree - be patient, your time will come.

LOL... this thread is has even funnier trolls on both sides than Kreulgor. Seriously, whats wrong with you people?

I don't see any reason why Stardock shouldn't try to release the game for the PS3 and xBox. After all, Stardock employees gotta eat bring home the bucks too, right? I can more or less do just about everything I need to with the mouse which means that it should be possible to play the game with a game pad.

I can run my programs on Windows, not Mac or Linux. Thus why I have Windows. Doesn't mean I "like* Windows, it's just what I need.

Ummmm, that's why I put XP on the computer I just built to replace my 5 year old one. There is just no reason to get Vista in my mind. I'll never upgrade my OS until there is a reason (such as not being able to get the old one anymore).

Well, you're a fool if you're upgrading that much (IMO). I build a new computer only about every 4-5 years. And I'll usually upgrade the video card at the 2-3 year mark. That's not that much.

Hmmm, guess it depends on your games I guess. I've never had much issue getting games to work on windows, even Oblivion.

Hardly, games I play just aren't even available on a console or they totally suck on a console. Every console I've every owned I play for about a month and then it collects dust. Having said that we do have a Wii and enjoy that a lot. And the only game we have is the Wii Sports that came with it. :D

Have fun!

LOL "the price of ones freedom"

Get over it, it's freaking software not slavery.

Man too funny.

Also if you weren't a noob you'd realize you can get Vista Ultimate for $179.

Hardly $800.

And you are further disillusioned if you think switching to a laptop and then Linux is going to get you out of the upgrade race. Most laptops last 3-5 years TOPS. And you are saying you are done with computers at this point and a laptop will last forever? LOL Get real.

You'll be buying a new desktop before you would be buying a new laptop. And if you think Consoles are not going to keep changing and new versions aren't going to come out, smoke more crack plz.

let's see, Xbox ----> Xbox360
PS1 ----> PS2 -----> PS3
Nintendo -----> Nintendo Gamecube ----> Nintendo Wii
etc. etc. etc..

OMG the horror! I can't believe they make me upgrade consoles should be timeless!

And lets not even GET INTO the fact that you are thinking about buying an XBOX 360 after your 'Slavery bit'. You do know that thing is built by Microsoft, and is single handedly responsible for killing a ton of good games because Microsoft went out and bought the gaming company with the good title so they could turn around and make it an XBOX Exclusive?

What's your next awesome feat, not renting movies anymore to fight the man, then you go to the movie theater to watch them?

ROCK ON MAN YOU'RE AWESOME!!

However, I have NEVER seem any console community be nearly as unwelcoming to PC gamers as most PC game communities are to console gamers. That's because the "console community" is composed of frat-boys, morons, and is pretty much the 'catch-all' of any retard who's never played a video game before in their life. A condescending console community is pretty much the lowest you can get.Besides, what are the console gamers going to complain about? How 'smart' PC games are compared to console games? Give me a break. Consoles are the single factor driving down creativity, imagination, encouraging dumbing-down and pushing graphics and action over anything else.I have honestly never seen any 'console fanboys' claim that consoles are actually superior to a good PC (anyone who does is obviously an idiot)You need to get out more. They whine about everything from "OMG U HAEV 2 UPGRAED UR GRAFIX EVRY 2 MUNTHZ" to "WTF U HAEV 2 ISNTEAL GAEMZ LOL GAYZ".Should I be looked down on because I dont have the time, expeariance and spare cash to buld myself a gaming rig?Yes.It's like owning a Honda Civic with a big spoiler on the back and calling yourself a racer. It's an insult to anyone who's ever custom-tuned an engine themselves and put meticulous time into rebuilding and upgrading it all. Secondly, because console gamers both have preconceived ideas about PC gaming that are almost all totally wrong, and they stick with their ez-mode gaming-for-idiots training-wheels, they never learn anything new.PC gamers go on to be game developers.Console gamers become the manager of a Burger King.I work with a SHIT ton of people from all over. I can go into a room and point out who plays an Xbox based on how crude and undereducated they are. The smartest people who also game that I work with are all PC gamers. Then we have some of the biggest knuckle-dragging idiots who ask "DuRrrr do u gaem rofl?" "Yeah...?" "lolol omg cal uf duty 4 iz leik ossum omg" *facepalm*.

You took the words right out of my mouth! I see the console people all over the web saying dumb things all the time. I build my own machines, and work as a web site developer, have been since computers came out in the 80's(I am 29 btw.) The reason us pc gamers are seem so upset and elitist is because the industry is dropping the pc more an more, and siding with the easy mode x-box. I blame it all on Microsoft and xbox, which is really ironic as microsoft is make the os for pcs! They are ruining gaming as they stole so many devs, so they can work exclusively on xbox games. Ensemble studios doesn't make age of empires anymore so it can make "Halo wars" arrgh...halo wars? Halo was horrible! I'd rather play outdated quake 1. Consoles do have their place for party games, and its where the wii has shined. It actually go my girlfriend into to gaming, but games like wii sports and most of the playstation lineup don't take away from the pc like the xbox does! Ever since it was made, more and more games are getting dumbed downed and consolized! Dues ex was a spectacular game and then xbox came out and they made the game for it first instead of the pc, and the sequel dues ex2 was horrible! They took out all the stats and and abilities, made the zones small so the console could handle it, and made it very linear. That was probably the first xbox game to do this in 2003, and it started a trend that hasn't stop and is growing in momentum. Look at Oblivion, and its dumbed down fast travel, and console interface compared to the previous game morrowind. It was dumbed down because console people don't like to explore and just want to get into the action as fast as their attention deficit disorder brains can handle. As more and more devs leave pc, and more and more games get dumbed down, you will see more and more angry pc gamers! Thank god their are some devs, like stardock and obsidian who support the pc exclusivly!

The way I see it..
Computer games are more of a personnel time. Hard to play with a friend.
Consoles are much more social.

Calling companies "evil" for dumbing down a game is stupid. "Oh no, even though I will never play the console version I'm really pissed off!". Games aren't cheap to make, so it makes sense to release it on multiple ports, especially with the high sales these years.

Well, I have PC, PSP, oldie Gamecube and ancient NES 8bit (makes nice piece of art in my living room). And when I visit one of my friends I play whatever console they have. Easy piece!

A good game is a good game, no matter what platform it is released on.

That would be the PC, wouldn't it? And don't forget how amazingly creative, imaginative, and smart Crysis is compared to, say, Mass Effect.

Crysis might not be amazingly creative, imaginative, and smart, but Mass Effect isn't either

ou CAN NOT port games to the PS3 numb nuts..
End of quote

what the hell are you talking about? Porting means nothing more than simply bringing a game from one platform to another, it doesn’t necessary mean sou can just copy and past the code from other versions. As long as you bringing a game from one platform to another you’re porting.

Hey guys, didn't you hear? The games you play determine your social status! It's true! Pay no attention to the fact that both consoles and PCs have games that cater to the lowest common denominator (WoW and Halo). Pay no attention to the fact that both consoles and PCs have their share of awesome and classic games (Starcraft and Resident Evil 4). Pay no attention to the fact that there are driveling morons abound on both gaming spectrums. The tools you use to have fun are serious business.

Good for you, sir. I'm not a fan of consoles (my last one was, and still is, a dusty PS1, on which I still play MGS every now and then - good game, in my opinion), but console players are no worse than PC players. There are total idiots on WoW (I'd know - I'm an ex-WoWee, so to speak), and that's even for a pay-to-play service.
