You
need Adama Repack Mod for this map to work
Installation instructions are included in the file (link in the post header above), but basically you just need to place the files inside the Adama Repack Mod folder and then play the map (called CampMap01) in the game.

Important issues with the mapWith the way the current Sins maps work, you need to set several things during the game creation, or the map won't work as intended!
Game Options:
-
Fixed Alliances-Every speed setting set to fast
-Pirates enabled
-Large Fleets
AI and player settings:
The AI and the player need to be both
TEC. Additionally the AI should be set to
Hard Agressor.
Most importantly, the starting location can't be fixed! So you need to make sure that you'll start in the right place. You should start at the
City Planet of Venar Prime and
not on the
Pirate Base. If you start at the pirate base, immediately quit the game and start it anew (don't forget to chose the race and AI settings again). Don't peek, or it will spoil the fun of exploring.
Sorry for the hassles, but it can't be avoided.

About the map
The map is mainly intended for players new to the game. (Veterans will probably find it much too easy.)
There is no ship building, research or resource management at the moment. This will follow in later maps with higher difficulty.
The map is mainly intended for a story telling (a "campaign" if you will).
Because of the games limitation, the story will be told in this thread. Although I'm an awful story teller, so don't expect too much. It's just meant to bring a little bit of narrative into the Sins universe. Will see how this will turn out.
Also it probably won't adhere strictly to the lore, so I beg for forgiveness for that.

The Venar Syndicate, Introduction
The Venar Syndicate (VS) is a large conglomerate of different companies, dabbling in all areas of modern industrial technologies. It's a mid sized interstellar company with over a dozen industrial planets. The Venar Syndicate has it's roots, like most of its competitors, in the military-industrial complexes of the late third millennium. While the past several hundred years had been mostly peaceful, remains of the past were still around and more then once had the VS used military assets (more or less) secretly in it's competitions with the others mega-corporations.
And, as in the past, where wealth is, are people who want that wealth for themselves, legal or not. Pirates are still a threat to peaceful traders. The competition between the individual companies, the independent trader worlds and the lack of a central body of law and police made combating them difficult, if not even impossible.
To guard against pirate raids (and the occasional attack by mercenaries hired by rival companies) most larger corporations have established their own police forces. Those paramilitary groups though are often as much as a danger to other corporations as the pirates themselves. Thus, the competition in the galactic market wasn't always bloodless.
Consequently, those "law enforcers" never had a good reputation and their occupants consisted mostly of thugs, fortune-hunters and the bottom of the barrel of the trillion-strong humanity. This is the story of one of those. The story of Juan Hoshiko. The hero who could have won the galaxy, but lost it all.
Act I, An Unfriendly Take-Over
Part I, Pirate Woes
The region around Arcturius has long been in the possession of the Venar Syndicate. It's homeworld and main research and production centers are located there. Other remnants of the past also are located their. The wastage of over a thousand years of industrial production. The wreckage left behind by weapons test from a far more brutal and dangerous past.
Juan Hoshiko switches of the history book. He had his last exam months ago and gained the rank of a captain at the Venar Space Academy with good, though not stellar marks. Not that I had it easy, he thought. As the son of the Alice Hoshiko, the inventor of the best-selling Hoshiko Robotic Cruiser. The cruiser that could even repair a broken planet! What a dumb commercial. They all think I have to be the same genius, just like mom. He looked around. The room smelled a bit after chemicals. It just had gotten a new coating before he moved in. Still, he could see some traces of rust, where the robots hadn't been very accurate.
Yeah, Captain of a ship sounds good, until you realize that the ship is an old, converted passenger liner which probably transported pigs in it's last days. Captain sounds nice until you realize that the only reason they took you, was because all other crew members have to carry a card which proves that they aren't genetically enhanced orangutans.
Juan sighed. There was no point in whining over it. He knew that. He had become what he wanted. The captain of a phasespace faring ship, away from the hundred billions working in the human hive that was the city planet of Venar Prime.
He jumped out of his stasis bed and went into the corridor. At least here, Juan thought, I don't bump into somebody every... Before he could finish the sentence in his mind, he was hailed by his commanding officer, Lieutenant Xam. We have a job, captain:
Order 883458.01
To: Captain of the Dora
From: Venar Space High Command, Tactical Computer
We have observed an increase in pirate activity in sector 45Y334X of the Arcturius System. You have to take command of the police fleet at Venar Prime and investigate. Find the source of the pirate activity and solve it. 3 Krosov frigates can be acquired from the Vendar Testing Grounds if the need arises.
Tactical Considerations:
- Use Hoshiko Repair Cruisers to maintain your fleets health
- Flak Frigates are good against fighters/bombers
- Use Tactics Management to build fleet cohesion
- Carriers can build fighters/bombers but can't sustain much damage themselves
- Krosov Siege Frigates are good against eventual enemy hideouts
Download this file to execute your orders.
Good luck.
