Can't even start it up.

Running this on an HP notebook with pentium 4 3ghz, 1Gig RAM with ati mobility radeon x600 128MB, Win XP Media Center Edition...and I got nothing going on.

Loading was no prob.  But when I try to start the program I just get a black screen and then it no longer responds.

I have the most updated graphics drivers.  And obviously I'm getting frustrated because everyone points at the other guy and says it must be their problem.  I've run other video intensive games on this with no problem. 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a notebook (2GHz w/ 2GB RAM) with a radeon x300 128MB card and I haven't tried running SINS on my notebook (I use my notebooks for work/travel, and my desktops for gaming ) so I can't confirm whether or not SINS would run on that hardware.

Sounds to me like either a driver issue (notebook video drivers are always the last to get updated by the manufacturer to the latest available from ati or nvida.....if at all), or the lack of more recent pixel shader support from the card itself.

What version, exactly? If you rely on HP, they may not actually be the latest.

I hope you're right.

I have Driver Ver. 8.281.0.0 Which supposedly came out in Sept. of '06! Sheesh..

The AMD website wrote me the following when requesting the appropriate driver:

"Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting AMD Customer Care,
Please be informed that currently AMD does not provide any driver support for notebooks/laptops. The drivers available for download from the AMD website are for desktop products. Driver support and updates are provided directly by the original notebook/laptop manufacturer. This is due to customization done at the manufacturer's discretion for their own products. Please download the drivers and updates from your notebook manufacturer's website. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Regards
AMD Customer Care"

So it was quite a run-around trying to even find out where I could get the latest drivers.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Well as AMD has pointed out, you'll have to take this up with HP.

Because hardware moves/changes so quickly these days notebook drivers are almost always left behind...

Well of course that brings me back to my first post..."I have the most recent graphics drivers."

So I guess I have to wait till HP updates the driver (if they ever will.)

That is unfortunate as I've spent money on a game for which my computer meets the minimum requirements (and then some) but cannot be played.

Very bummed.
