another newbie question

I am a newbie in this game n i have just bought this game 2 days ago. What i wanna ask is when i wanna upgrade my fleet supply to lvl 3(250-400), the pre-requisite is 2 research structures(no problem there) and an upgrade named Substance manipulation(maybe the spelling is wrong). The problem is i cant seem to find this upgrade anywhere after i have searched the whole research tree, harmony and hostility. Can the pros out there answer this noobish question for me. Thx in advance

The level up buttons have cosmetic research names. Its probably the name of the level 2 upgrade which precedes level 3.

Subliminal Manipulation is the title of the first fleet cap upgrade for Advent. I'm assuming you are using the non researched original fleet cap as 'level 1.' There is no research in one tab that directly requires one in another tab, afaik.

And for fleet research you only need a research station - type does not matter. But you need to research the prior one for fleet and cap crew before you can get the next one. Or at the very least, have the prior one scheduled for research...
