Basic Logistics stops progressing

So I bought Sins of a Solar Empire. I'm trying to do the tutorials to learn the game.

Verision: 1.09[b].038

Game mode: Basic Logistics.
When: After I've selected my builder unit, and built the only turret available to build.
What: The tooltip asking me to build the turret doesn't go away, after I've built a turret, or even several turrets.

So the game is still responding, but the tutorial will not advance.

Specs:
win XP SP3
AMD CPU
2x1GB RAM
ATI 4850 video card
1650x1024 - everything to highest etc (dual screens, game maximized on primary monitor

I had a look at this and its all true.

The tool tip tells you to build a Gauss Defense Platform, but the Metal Extractor is highlighted. When you click to build Extractor the tutorial advances.
