1.09 performance...

I have to admit, I thought perfomance with new graphics and beta would take a hit, but I 'm happy to say that SINS looks better and runs SMOOTHER than it did before the patch.
I used to be afraid of running multiple star games for this reason, but I ran a 4 star system game last night and it runs better now.

This is one report without any credible evidence what so ever. While the input is appreciated, I'm sure that this is hardly anything to take to the bank.

I'm to lazy to make a comparison, but 1.09 seems to run with just a bit sharper graphics at just a bit smoother pace.

You shouldn't expect anything different. The patch is a major change to quite a few things, and mods will need to be updated.

It runs smoother really? I would have definitely expected it to slow down a little with the extra effects. Still wanna wait for the official release and the mod files.

As they say, work smarter not harder ;)

It could be like twilight of the arnor, they managed to make it look better while also making it run better.

in the beta change log it says that they would make it look better on weaker machienes, so ya they followed through.

I play on an AMD 3200 machine with a 256 Meg video card.

Before the new patch I couldn't use anything above 2x speed or I would get choppy ( ~ 20 fps ) video.
Bailknight's graphics mod was almost unplayable after about 30 mins.

Now I can use the 4x speed with little chop and the 8x is about as bad as the old 2x.
Can't wait for the new mod files and see how Bailknight's new version will run.
