Hi,
I'll start on a positive note by congratulating the developers on the great game (from what I've seen so far) and for not using any sort of digital rights mangling in the game. For these two reasons I bought the game online a few days ago. Impulse also worked well without problems when I downloaded SoSL to this PC.
However, I use another PC for games, and that one has no internet connection. I used Impulse to create an archive of the game, copied Impulse and the archive to the other PC, installed Impuse and was unable to run it without the internet connection. I found out that the archive can be uncompressed using my user name as a password, and the game actually seems to work although I just uncompreessed the installed directory tree (so there will problably be some problems because it's not a true installation).
So here comes the bad part and a request. The password thing is annoying. Why not just create an archive that we can use? And the need to run Impulse with a connection was really disappointing. Things seemed so client-friendly up to that point that this felt like a slap in the face. I paid for the game. I just want to play it on the other PC. If you're afraid I might give someone else a copy, don't be because anyone who has bittorrent has a copy of the game if they want to, and anyone who buys the physical CD can copy it with no problems.
My request is to please fix the limitation on Impulse or allow us to backup the instalation file in a way that can be used to install on an offline PC.
Thanks in advance, and I hope to buy more stuff from you in the future (if you fix this, of course
