just a quick newbie question about winnig

evening
got a question.
Lets say its a 3 player game. Two of them sign a peace treaty and..... well kick the ass off the other player: Do they win if he's vanquished?
Or do they have to fight eachother to determine a winner?

I searched and searched and found nothing. Sorry if its not the first time this question was asked.

If you are "allied" with another player, your "team" will win the game.

Ah thanks. I thought it would only matter what team you chose at the beginning of the game.
