SOASE Vs Eve Online?

SOASE Vs Eve Online?

Hi there, i've been playing the Eve-Online game for a few years now, but i've never really "got into" it, and don't really know how to play the game properly.  I love the graphics  and what the game is, and how big it is.

But popping into my local GAME and I see SOASE out.  It looks a lot like Eve.  Eves too complicated for me I think, but can anyone give any pro's/cons to playing this over eve?

Eve Pros

Great graphics
Large support base
Huge game, probably never explore all place.
Lots of guns, missiles

Eve Cons

Maybe too big?
Far too complicated
Can't trust anyone
Monthly subscription.
Too many of the same looking ships, not enough real variety

So can anyone who's played both give any valied inpartial opinions?  Should I think about stopping Eve and buying this instead?

Nukes, I'd have to disagree with you here.

You do not directly control massive fleets in EVE. You do not take over planets and build populations on them in EVE. EVE is in no way an empire game, and trying to disguise it as such is misleading. SINS is a strategy game, EVE is an MMO, and they are two completely separate types of game.

To say there is no strategy in EVE is quite misleading (I know that is not what you are saying, but to the casual observer it could look like that). Personally, I would almost label EVE as a RTSMMO. Especially if you are in charge of a corporation, alliance or a fleet commander. No two fleet makeups will work the same way (unless you have a gaggle of Vagas and just fly in circles laughing at all the turret fanboys). If you don't fight there is a crapton of economic strategy involved. In 0.0 there is having to decide where to base your fleets, how to set up your jump bridges, etc.

Some of my old corpies were heavy into Jita trading and you wouldn't believe the time and effort that was put into that (excluding the time required to try and undock from 4-4).

They are two very different styles of games, but both require strategy and quite a bit of brain power in order to do very well at.

And darn you all... I have been out of EVE for a few months due to monetary shortages and now I am going to cry, I miss it.

I just tried the 14 day trial I must be a tard because I can't figure anything out.  there are so many menus it would be too daunting a task for me to learn.  Sins is butter for me!
