Advent, 'cause they're so angry.

You are all welcome to join the unity.

No really I insist.

Darn this is a real hard one. I like all the races, but I think I would have to choose the Advent as my favorite race.

Why I like the Advent- I love how their ships are the most artistic of the races, and the fact that most of them use beam lasers so you are watching a laser light show when you play. Also there is something about having girls so intent on subverting others....Wow that sounds wrong.

TEC comes in a close second since I like the blockiness of their ships. And the Vasari have the best planet bombardment. You can get some awesome screen shots of a Vasari fleet decked out in Cap ships and bombardment frigates raining death plasma on a planet, TEC nukes are sweet too.

Advent, of course. What's not to like about a race "even more twisted and powerful than in the stories told to frighten us as children".

Besides, I love it when people (TEC) pay the price for their own intolerance. C'mon the TEC storyteller is hating a lot more on the avenging Advent than on the enslaving alien invaders who just showed up and started killing people for no good reason. (From a non-Vasari point of view, natch.)

i like the Vasari obviously. they have probably the deadlyiest support ship the subverter.
their ships look cool and they have the coolest voices

I'd like to give the entire Vasari race a giant cough drop.

Vasari commander- "One of our planets is under siege. Now excuse me while I go sandpaper my throat."

I find the Vasari ships a little to bland for some reason. Which is wierd, I guess it is because they don't reflect light as much as the Advent so in my opinion they seem kinda dull. In appearance I like the Overseer and the "Space Egg" Cap ship. Their starting frigates are cool looking too.

I'm having an hard time making up my mind as all the factions have some of my favorite units and/or abilities.

I'd say TEC because my current favorite ability is the Marza Dreadnought's Missile Barrage.

Yes! I was hoping someone would throw their hat in for TEC. I was afraid we would only be getting Advent and Vasari fans.  :HOT:

For me, TEC is my favorite race for the following reason:

Expedited Permits: allowing to build structures faster
Trade Port: available early
Planet development: Infrastructure build faster
Robotics Cruiser: allowing your ship to last longuer in battle
KOL Battleship: Heavy Warship with Gauss Cannon & Adaptive Shielding

Vasari, I like their strong quality ships and special abilities. A good micromanaged Vasari fleet will plough through planets and fleets. Their phase nodes are also a huge boon to fluid defense.

I'd have to say the TEC, even though it takes a while to research new unit types, I always get large amounts of money to make up for the lack of other resources.

TEC
1. They aren't xenos
2. They aren't heretics

Now will you guys PLEASE include a STANDARDIZED female avatar for TEC in the next update or something?! Preferably with silver hair and power armor. I know it doesn't matter, I realize its being silly, but being represented by captain grumpypants is not my idea of a good time! And due to strange compulsions I can't just do it myself, it has to feel 'official'.

Nobody takes pity on us lonely internet weirdos ;_;

The Unity disagrees.

I do. But I am one, so that probably doesn't count.

I think he means in the Warhammer 40k sense, i.e.:
Xenos = aliens (so "not xenos" is pretty much the opposite of "not xenophobic")
Heretics = anyone who disagrees with his team :-p

But not to worry, the Unity will change his mind. Literally.

TEC ftw.

First off, i think the janky town "hastily remodeled" ship design is awsome.

Second, their economy is great. Lets face it, I ,love money

third, nukes and rail guns. thats all anyone really needs

and finally, because they are my fellow humans.

Which is also why Advent is a close second, along with their  "pew-pew" lazers

Vasari.  They've got what it takes to win.

May the force be with you. Obi

Advent :)  I like the sleekships and the abilities. And I think it is just a bit harder than playing the vasari or the tec. I could be wrong, but I like the little more difficult feel, haha. Silly, but i set everything on slowest, and take each step in methodical fashion, I like setting up the scouts, 5 or 6 of them and taking the time for the research and the fleet building. I don't always get the time i want before the pirates come calling, but sometimes i do. usually though after the first wave i have more time to finish the research and start exploring.

Vasari. Their military is the strongest of all the three races. I defy anyone to stand in our way!

Space Ponies. Enough said!

...

On a more serious note, Vasari. Highly advanced but very frightened aliens fleeing from an unknown threat for the last 10000 years is a background that's both serious & mysterious, but also wryly amusing. They're specialists in FTL manipulation and nanotechnology, with warp-capable missiles as their primary weapon, which is more appealing than laser-obsessed psionic hippies out to get vengeance or industrial tycoons flying armed space junk who are still somehow capable of equalling factions that should be much more advanced than they are.

The only problem is that - except for their capital ships, and a handful of their frigates(Skirmisher, Sentinel, Transporter, and Enforcer to be precise) - they're ships are mostly ugly. It's a shame, seeing as two of the most important units - Assailants and Subverters - are also two of the ugliest, while one of the best-looking units - the Skirmisher - is almost entirely useless.

You should set up a poll, Zeta.

I agree with Peskyfly, as a Vasari player I am very disappointed with the look of Vasari ships. And TEC ships, too. And many Advent ships. The Vasari ships are covered in pointless spiked protrusions and have wierd poinless shapes; TEC ships are just plain boxy, bland, and uninspiring. Sure the Enforcer looks bad, but at least it has character. The Kodiak looks like an SUV without wheels. BOOOOORING. The Advent ships look (mostly) good at least. Too bad every one I meet ends up looking like any other ordinary piece of debris }:)
