Two newbie questions

Hi, Im a new Galactic Civilizations player, I like the game alot so far, it's way better than Civilization IMO (in some ways at least) But, I was wondering two things.

1.What is the play list for? Mp3s?

2.All of the music and sound effects work properly except the background music that plays in the game map, it doesn't show up at all and I'm wondering why. It worked the first time, then I think the second time I launched it, it went silent.

In answer to 1. You make your own playlist for mp3s. You can play whatever one's you want.

If you switch on the custom playlist it doesn't play the background music anymore.
