Demigod issue...

When the beta for Demigod was recently updated (Nov. 6th), it stopped working on my computer. I've not panicked because, well, it's a beta.

The error I get is "Unable to create direct3d. Please ensure system has current video drivers."

My pc is a quadcore running windows xp with a GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card, and the game was running perfectly before the Nov. 6th update.

Are there any suggestions as to what I can check or fiddle with?
