whenever i try to start entrenchment it just takes me to a black screen, and then nothing, it just stays there, ive tryed reinstalling, among other things.
If you had a mod set to load on startup, that's what's messing it up. Uninstalling doesn't delete the user.setting file which lists which mod to load.. so either copy the mods somewhere else for a while, or open the user.setting file and make sure the ModName string is blank (should read "", delete whatever is between the quotes).
I hada similar problem with a black screen ion sins start, but the mouse cursor jumped to the lefthand side of the screen.
the problem in my case turned out to be old maps, so you might want to rename the galaxy folder in drive\(documents and settings/users)\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire to see if this fixes it, also you might want to check any old maps in the program files galaxy folder
I have the same problem. I have no mods or custom maps (edit) so after posting this I thought I would actualy try what harpo99999" had recommended. I renamed the file "1galaxyfolder" - and it now works, thanks harpo9999
I had this problem too. All i had to do was open the Mods Folder and take out whatever mod i had autoloading before the update and it started fine
Well Im back to a black screen!
Since doing what harpo9999 recommended I have played as TEC - saved, reloaded, saved and reloaded. I then thought I would try Vasri - saved the game, when I tried to reload - black screen! Renaming the galaxy folder again does not work for a second time.
Any ideas guys?
