The last stand-alone patch

First of all hi everybody :). I just got the game since I'm a big fan of 4X games (even though this is not a true TBS 4X). This game feels like an update of Conquest: Frontier Wars, if you know of this game.

Anyways, I know that all updates are now done through IMPULSE but I was wondering which is the last stand-alone patch? I read somwhere that it was 1.05, but for the life of me I can't find that forum thread to confirm before starting the download.  Also, do I need to download all previous patches before 1.05 (1.01, 1.02 etc) before installing 1.05?

Your help will be appreciated

I'd recommend updating to 1.13 via Impulse, 1.05 is pretty far behind the curve.

What POSSIBLE reason could you have for sticking with 1.05 or avoiding Impulse?

Oh just the comp that the game is on doesn't have internet connection for now, that is all. If I  install 1.05 do I need to install previous patches?

Wow, you're honestly going to be missing out on some seriously awesome balances and updates to the game :(

First you said:

then you say:

If it doesn't have an internet connection how are you going to "start the download" of 1.05?

I'm confused.

Download it on my laptop, put it on a flash drive and then install it on a comp with the game.

Ah, gotcha. I'm pretty sure you can do that with Impulse and if not it will be available soon. I don't know if 1.05 was a delta patch or a comprehensive because it was so long ago. I would just try it and reinstall from the dvd if it fails.

If you want to get the 7 deadly sins mod v2.0 by danman which is for v1.05

It would be great if I could do that with the latest patches. DO I need to install previous patches or just the latest one?

It availble on filefront, fileplanet, ign. Though only filefront lets you download it without nedding to register.

Until Impulse gets offline patching ability, you can sort of work around it.. install Sins 1.05 on your offline PC. Install 1.13 on your laptop. Save the 1.13 installation folder on a usb key or disk, and overwrite the 1.05 installation folder with it, replacing everything. :P

Thanks Annatar, I'll try that :). How do you download 1.13 on Impulse? Im looking for the damned thing but I can't find it.

You'll have to register your serial number first, go to the blue orb in the top left and add registration :P Then it'll show an available update for Sins in My Games.

Cheers mate, did that before but the only download that offers is to download the complete game, not a patch.

That's how Impulse works. It takes you directly to the latest version. There's no standalone patch for the later versions, just the changed files.

In other words: get it, then copy the whole darn installation folder. Just about that much has been changed anyways.

Omg! You.. almost.. swore! *gasps*

But yes, Kitkun is quite correct :) Impulse doesn't download patches, it just does a file comparison between your installation and the updated version and downloads and replaces changed files directly.

Just means we need to get you a bit more drunk to get the good stuff out. For a fox, you probably can't hold too much booze, anyway. ;)

Smaller body = less blood = easier to raise blood alcohol levels.

Stop going all science-y and common sense-y on me. :(

Hah! You have no idea...

It is inevitable when Kitkun and I get into the same thread. It's like the Unstoppable Force and the Immovable Object. I got dibs on the Force.

But I'm just waiting to see if it worked for him :P

It's something interesting to do.

You can't stop the unstoppable force... so what if you drop it on your foot? For that matter, how are you going to keep your arm when you pick it up?

You misunderstand, young padawan.. I am the force and you are the object. Also, since you're immovable, I don't have to worry about running now because you can't move anywhere to stab me.
