I've just finished the initial map. Here it is:

This is the state of the world in the year 2032. This political state was caused by an exodus of almost all nations from the UN in 2024 which dramatically reduced it's power, leaving many powerful nations free to expand into neighbouring nations and take over. In North America, Mexico and Canada declared war on the USA, leaving the US President no choice but to order an attack on both nations and estabilish the NAU or North American Union. Anarchy takes hold in Central and Southern America as military rebellions become dramatically more frequent, whereby the new NAU takes action and invades. In Europe, the EU attempts to forcefully abolish the identity of it's member states and thus creates the Europa League. The Europa League expands outwards into a new maritime empire, halted eventually by the NAU and the EAU and the crippling invasion of the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In Africa, military coups manage to overthrow all governments and estabilish the Arfikaa nation, now struggling to hold off the Saudi advance. Across the north of Asia, Russia sees it's oppertunity and invades neighbouring nations en mass, forming the mighty Russian Empire. In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia aggresively expands into the rest of the Arabian Peninsula, successfully defeating the Europa League and the Russian Empire. In the Far East, Japan becomes militarised and manages to conquer a large sphere of territories, known as the EAU or Eastern Asian Union. It meets substantial resistance by the Europa League, the Russian Empire and Greater Korea who all manage to push them onto the defensive.

I've noticed that it's impossible to identify the smallest islands due to resolution. Here's the links to each individual island group:

I just realized that for teleportation to work, you need FTL travel. So teleportation dosen't work.

Samurye.
Not necessarly, you could make that object teleport at the (Speed of Light) - 1m/s
End of DarthCaedusMorgan's quote

Even if it is or not that is why i was quick to get rescorces and recycle stuff thats was left of the dark void.

in fact we are still gtahering rescorces and found a dark void ninja artifact talking about a galaxy they came from and much more that is the most we could figure out and we couldn t get anything out of the captured ninjas before we sent the all to you Samurye and it seems your Flaming ninjas are the only ones that could translate this cause i am sure just like me your curois about the secrets of their race am i right?so will you translate with me? i might even pay you.

Does anybody own the Tauri Nation yet?its doombringer right?

You guys don't seem to get it. The universe has been without FTL travel and communications for a millenium. Your empires are gone. Your fleets are gone. Each world is now independent and readying to explore the stars. They know nothing of their pasts, except that they came from... somewhere else. It is a clean slate, a new era of discovery.

Your history became unimportant. As colonists turned into agricultural societies, advanced knowledge became useless and was so forgotten. By now, society has advanced nearly to the level it was at before the Great Destabilization.

The FN Sanctuary worlds have become hoards of pre Destabilization knowledge, so ttechinaly yes, I do still have all my stuff. You seem to be forgetting that I didn't have much stuff to begin with.

This story is basically the same as the medevil Dark age with the Flaming Ninja Sanctuaries being the monasatries where enlightened learning was preserved.

You left the reasons for this change quite ambiguous.

and since the universe has stabilized im allowed to do that right?

The Timewight's will make an exception since this is an opportunity to finally destroy the demons.

BTW, the invasion won't be for a while yet, so don't get ready yet.

ok just a quick question, if my civilization was completely telepathic pre destabilization, why would my planets have lost contact with each other?

i mean i know that its a bit of a long time but id still have the hive mind functioning at nearly peak capacity for that mileneum reducing the loss of knowledge and locations.

if i did lose the hive mind function the star charts i have on all of my planets should provide sufficient data to reform the empire.

End of quote

The cataclysm had far reaching effects. Not only did a large number of people die, but most of the survivors had their telepathic abilities fried. Though the population has started to recover, only some of them are still telepathic, living on what were the most densely populated worlds/core worlds.

The star charts were presumably either lost or destroyed, or the people who had them died. Remember that almost no architecture from the Golden Age still survives.

Which brings us back to Earth. The Same old thing that we all started with, basically coming full circle. Earth has to be the most technologically advanced planet in the galaxy out of the simple necessity of War between the powers. Of course without all the Fancy FTL, organic ships, and my (beautiful) Stellar converters and temporal drives. just Beans, Bullets, and Bandages

Actually, Earth, or rather the entire Sol system is completely devoid of life. After the FTL drives stopped working, the out of system materials that the planet wide cities survived on were gone. Within a decade everyone had died. This was the same on every city-planet in the galaxy.

I'm not sure what FTL stands for.

You'll have to ask Samurye that when he's online, since he's currently the pioneer in the thread.

Well, we are each controling a bunch of xenophobic space newbies. We will make a new galaxy, empires forged in blood. No deus ex machina though. I'll start:

New Kyoto: the city of New Kyoto lasted many years on their stockpiles and orbital gardens. Eventually those ran out, and the New Kyotians had to find more food. They dispatched a party to the nearby garden world of Spring Blossom to cultivate their fields. The Blossomites were genrous with their food, but the Kyotians were greedy. Before long the Kyotians had demanded more food than the Blossomintes could give them, and so they invaded. Numerous wars were fought for control of the planet, but eventually things cooled down. Then FTL travel returned. Now with accces to many more worlds, the Kyotians carved a large emipre ut of the surrounding systems, killing trillions with their advanced technology. They the transformed into the current day Kyotian Empire.

New Tokyo: The city of New Tokyo lasted for a long time on stockpiled food and orbital gardes, but eventually they had to find more. They looked to the Garden world of Lifeline. The people of Lifeline had warreed with themselves for a long time, and eventually they had bombed themselves back to the stone age. The New Tokyoin explorers who arrived on the world were revered as gods by the population, and showed the residents many helpful techniques such as farming, electricity, aqueducts, etc. They soon evolved into a psuedo Mayan people of intelligence, while the Tokyoins farmed on the other side of the world. By the time of the Stabalization, the Lifelinians were on per with the Tokyoins in terms of society and technology. Now able to travel among the stars, the New Tokyoins brought enlightenment and technology to many systems which form the present day Flaming Ninja Santuary worlds.

The Coalition of Democratic Systems, a nation founded on the principles of liberty, equality and human rights.

if i so much hear about organic ships......

In other news, a scout ship from beyond the fronteirs has appeared over the CDS capital claiming to be an emmisary from something called the Liberty Prime movement. Appearently they had barely survived until the return of FTL through which they originally sought to restore the Vetaron Confederacy. However though, the original founders had long since died and the new leaders became sucessivly corrupt. Only through a violent revolution was the Liberty Prime movement capable of restoring peace. After contacting the former capitals of other species did they realise what was going on.

Appearently the Orz had a lot to do with the FTL destabilization. Through means not yet understood, they advanced to within 30 parsects of the CDS border even though all FTL travel was suspended by the Timewights. The capability of the Orz to sustain an empire of that magnitude for that long should be considered a threat to the entire galaxy. a new front of Warfare has erupted and as the Liberty Prime forces gradually regain their Vetaron Glory, it pales in comparison th the awsome war machine being used by the Orz with their new conquests of the galactic fronteir.

Withon minutes a formal delegation was sent to both the CDS capital and to New Tokyo awaiting further contact with the respective governments. Attempts to enter Kyotian space was met with heavy resistance and all attempts were suspended.

I'm not just going to let a ship enter high orbit over my capital. What if it was part of an armada? It's technically a transgression since you entered CDS space without informing us. We can be a bit jumpy at DEFCON 3 since political relations with the Kyotian Empire are tense. Try informing us first.

I've finished designing 3 different series of flags and insignias for the CDS. I'm currently using series 2.

CDS

The CDS (Coalition of Democratic Systems) is a large, well-developed and highly industrialised nation occupying most of the territories that formerly belonged to the old UGA. Its population, predominantly human, numbers in the trillions and the majority live on the ecumenopolitan core worlds closer to Earth. As well as being capitalist, the state is de facto socially democratic therefore citizenship and civil rights are gained only through employment, drastically reducing both unemployment rates and the number of lethargic citizens resulting in a powerful military-industrial sector. Ever since an international incident at Theroc by the Kyotian Empire, the CDS has been at DEFCON 3 and fringe worlds on the border are highly militarised.
