Hey,
Me and my friends were playing a game the other day. They always turn into meat grinders with two or three 3000 point fleets facing off in heavily fortified systems, etc. Much fun.
Regardless, when I attacked the TEC homeworld (I'm Advent) I found I couldn't jump my fleet out again once I realised I was going to lose. The result was, my now 2500 points of ships spent 5-10 minutes trying to jump out before I found it to be hopeless (of course they hadn't been firing whilst doing this, so his TEC fleet had had 5-10 minutes of free shooting).
At that point I'd lost 500-1000 points more and it was assured loss. I still couldn't jump out and 20 minutes since the battle started, my entire fleet was gone.
Not even he could tell me what the hell had happened. And I couldn't figure it out. So my question to you, strategy, is how does one overcome this? Does this mean that attack an endgame foritified TEC world is futile? (Yes, I know I shouldn't have gone in with his fleet there, but it was a chokepoint and it was the make or break battle that would bring victory to either of us.)
Thanks for any help.
