German is only heavy and rough when spoken poorly or in anger.
Think of the Vasari words: Skirantra, Jarasul, Vulkoras, Antorak, Kanrak... they all sound far more eastern to me, perhaps Persian... Here are some Persian words for comparison: Achar, Amani, Bakhtiar, Charka, Darvesh, Shikari, etc... notice the similarity in sound/spelling?
