What antivirus are you using?

ArcaVir is giving a false positive, it's reproducible with their online scanner. I've emailed their support people to let them know. Feel free to run the setup program through http://www.virustotal.com for piece of mind. It'll scan it with 41 different scanners.

That's so very true! I recently did help someone who bought a magazine which came with another free virus scanner. Turned out that the scanner damaged her operating system (Vista) upon uninstall. Since the 1 year license was over, uninstalling seemed to be the best of options. Now she has to keep the damaged UAC turned off (or take the time for a complete vista reinstallation). My machine also came with a pre-installed Vista and Virus scanner from some other company...and the only way to get rid of it without problems was to completely reinstall Vista.

To be true, in all those years with Windows, I've never had Virus troubles. But I had several times a Virus scanner damage the operating system

When I bought my computer at Best Buy, they installed Webroot Antivirus and Antispyware.

Does anyone know if Webroot is similarly problematic upon exspiration or otherwise?
