Adding null points in 3ds max

Hey, after finally finding out how I could import .mesh files into 3ds max, I am kinda lost in what to do next. What I want to do, is adding some new ability null points and change some of the old ones (this could also be done by opening them in notepad though adding new points would be quite hard). So, can someone tell me how to add null points in 3ds max or if I can export it into a file format and then open it with xsi mod tool (since the documentation was made for this program, this should be easier).

Adding points is easy in the text version of the mesh file, you just need to know the position (import into max and get the position from that), the orienation is very simple also.

The only reason you would want to export from max is if you changed a lot of geometery.

More info on that in this thread

Dont forget you can export the mesh with the correct new point positions and copy past the points to a diffrent file! (This is probably the easiest way)

Ty for the help both of you, though I figured most of these things out in the mean time. The thread with the matrix directions will be a big help since it seems that I will have to add the points manually. I have tried to export the models from 3ds using the soase script, but the models seems to be too big for it (I have tried with a smaller model which workded). The only bad thing about having to add them manually, is that two of the models will have 60 + points -_-.

EDIT: I hopefully figured out a sollution, I simply added the points as I wanted them (btw called dummy points in 3ds) and then replaced the model with a smaller one. That way I should get a .mesh file with the points (though the directions have to be altered a little) and then I can copy it over in the original mesh file. The converting takes some time so I will first find out when that is finished.

EDIT: Yeah, it worked. Now it is just correcting those matrixes.
