Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

I know. Some wouldn't work with it as well as others, but it would be cool to have a macro and micro view at once. Just saying. I've known a few people who can reprogram things to get custom features like that and completely redo the layout of flight sim HUDs, even adding touch screen controls. But I'm not those guys.

Bummer, that would be the ultimate mod for DS

yeah, good for you. Anyway, it would be awesome, but I dunno if the codes even allow for it. Meh, you do what you can.

lol, google translators render that phrase very poorly

I had to mess with it to get it close to what it is suppose to be

Basically its a crude Russian term meaning "what are you doing?"

or more specifically "why are you fucking a cow?"

Are you trying to give me material for Borovsky? Cause that's something of a swing and a miss.

Speaking of which, now I have to go back and read up on Carbon's last activity so I can write some of his stuff. You still catching Xenon?

He said he wanted to continue his own posting so no.

If you want something that will help with Borovsky look at David Weber's book 'The Stars at War'. The character is an Ivan Antonov. That's also where I got the phrase. I feel Weber wrote him in fairly well. Not too 'Russian' yet enough of the subculture's ideals and phrases that he seems realistic in a futuristic setting where cultures were blending a bit.

Just Xenon or are they both coming back to write their stuff?

And I'm kinda more doing the awkward Russian speaking English deal. I have a German guy who I like to throw in the phrases and all when I use him.

Xenon mostly though I think Carbon is on the fence.

But yeah maybe Weber's book may not be what you are looking for as the character was supposedly raised in a Russian family in a time when the humans were united under one government and English is Standard. So he speaks both well and only reverts to Russian idioms as a way of cursing or when things get serious. Though the second is more of a grammar thing then words as he starts speaking without definite articles.

yeah, I'm kinda on the fence. I knew this Israeli who had never been outside the country (not counting his IDF tour) who was raised in the Russian quarter of his town, so he spoke with a thick Russian accent and spoke it quite well, but was also fluent in Arabic, Hebrew and English. Since he grew up with them all simultaneously, he rarely mixed them.

Well, when Carbon said he was leaving the lore I messaged him if it would like me to write up some big thing on the EU finally starting to gun each other down and closing off all of their systems from the rest of DS.  The thought was to have Bison write up a little something about bombing the UE board members again and this time, instead of the Advent being blamed, Carbon is blamed.  Carbon knowing fully well this was all pure BS recalls everyone loyal to him back to the UE systems to fight it out.  This gives Bison another target to play with, and it pulls all of the UE elements randomly floating throughout the lore into a nice secluded corner where they won't bother anyone.

I got the okay from Carbon to write it all up and send his way to post, but then I started getting distracted by the holidays and stuff and hit Draak up for help, to which he went to you, and I've yet to do very much of anything on that or even my own stuff...  So where Carbon is concerned, I think him saying he's quitting the lore for at least the near future is a pretty good indication that he's not really on the fence.

If it has any of my main characters interacting or any kind of military action, send those parts my way.  If it's all just random characters and general movement around the system and activities based on what we've already gone over, then don't worry about it.
End of Stant123's quote

Stant, can you take a look and see what you think?  I know you talked about a pretty straight shot from Trade station to the planet, but i sort of thought it might be a little boring, just having them waltz in and waltz out, so i made it a little dramatic.

Didn't use any of your main characters, and nothing militarily. Though a little bit of a storage bay fire and NPC guards with guns running around. I hope it is ok, but please take a look and let me know. If there is something too far out I will edit it.

Thanks for the help and see you on the forum.

I really need to catch up on lore reading.

Yes, you do.

And yes, it does sound like Carbon is pretty done for, BUT he did get pissed one time and swear he would leave, ultimately deciding against it. Rather, he just cut back how often he posted.

I think for a lot of us, once we got the main arc finished, which took long enough, it was time for people to take time off or clock out completely. Of course, not only do you still have these characters living on, but you also have new people (Teal, Bison, Oranos, etc.) coming in who want to have a go at it and that means others of us have to find something to get into. So, there's a certain fatigue involved that I think has struck a few people.

And I hate to say it, but I think the main arc finished up anti-climactically. Carbon, Xenon and Ryat had their ships toasted. On the one hand, it would have made it far more dramatic if I got more of my shit toasted and there was a drawn out ordeal involved in my rescuing the others while they try for a daring escape. On the other, getting my shit toasted would leave us with almost no resources and I think we all wanted to see it finally over with given the delay in progression and ocassional missed opportunities for other action/arcs. Of course, it was satisfying to see Alpha toast the bitch.

I dunno. Let me know what they say.

Truth, I know I kinda suffered from the fatigue. Didn't help I was trying to write two other storylines (separate from Sins all together) which increased the energy output. Then throw in work, kids, wife (even the best of women demand some attention :P ) and you have a recipe for energy drain.

I can't really tell you anything. I went to google and put your posts in and all it did was spit the same thing back at me. And I honestly have no working knowledge to go from. I'll assume you did a good job and give you a thumbs up.

The above post was about the Malay stuff.

And your last story post I have not had the time to read yet. You've been good up to this point, so I assume it'll be on par with past performance. I'll let you know when I get there.

:)  I think i had better stay with English, less confusing that way. I didn't understand the Maylay, but like you, I went to google translate and tried to get it back out, haha, it is not Maylay, but Chinese phonetic. I should have left the characters in as they came out, easier to understand that way.

It is funny, i suppose computers don't quite know everything yet.   :)
