Tired of noob eco players so ima teach you

I have played several games recently where the enemy had eco players like jbaum vs mediocre eco players. Even many skilled players dont know how to eco correctly. First of all the biggest mistake that most players make is waiting until they have a few planets to begin building trade ports. Thats a huge mistake i cannot stress that enough. Trade ports take 15 minutes to pay themselves off so u need to get them as soon as possible. Basically ur first 2 planet should be nothign but trade ports unless ur vasari thena  couple need to be imperial lab. after that just keep expanding preferably with 2 fleets without researching any more fleet supply get 1 or 2 labs for each next planet and a culture station every 2. once u start gettign close to the enemy start building sbs at chokes first and if your team cant break the enemy lines and u cant break theirs basically in a postion to eco build sbs at every planet u can for vasari get both colony pods upgrades plus the trade advent get the trade and 1 culture upgrade which after scuttle ur culture temples and replace with trade,labs or factorys, and TEC get both trade upgrades also if they are in good postion put factorys on them and scuttle ur standard factorys and replace with ,trade , culture,refinerys, or labs. any skilled economists please feel free to add

jusr something i wanted to add, if a planet has a large number of phase lanes leading to planets or neutrals with extracters in them, build as many refenries(usually 3) as it possible. refineries can be far more effective then trade if well placed.

Something else i need to add.no matter what race u are u should always battle for neutrals.they increase your income by quite a bit and denies enemy free resources.

is it possible to capture neutral extractors that the opponent owns, and how do you use the ability that shows up on gas giants

Yes

to capture enemy neutrals just do it like you would do it if they weren't captured. eg, colony ships with advent and TEC and scout with vasari

As for ability on gas giants.... You mean explosion pockets???.... I'm not sure if it even works but if it works i think it works on percentage of all fire in gas giant gravity well (Once you fire and if it falls in that percentage you trigger gas pocket and it explodes) I assume it was meant to work this way.

As I said i'm not sure how it works so if anyone knows ....... explain please. I am sure that it works automatically and you cannot activate it manually.

There's a chance of area of effect damage occurring when fighting in a Gas Giant.  This can be very brutal.  Most people don't fight at gas giants with large forces (or any neutral, for that matter) unless the map design makes it a hard choke.

Asteroid belts, plasma storms, magnetic clouds, gas giants, and stars all have "abilities" associated with them...Greg30007 is correct, these abilities cannot be activated by you, the player...simply being in the gravity well means these abilities will affect all ships in that gravity well...

For example, the asteroid belt reduces the accuracy for all ships in the same well...this simply is....your ships will do less damage per second because more of their shots will miss their targets...

Gas giants result in destroyed ships causing explosions...I'm not certain on this, but I think Greg30007 is correct, the explosions are not guaranteed but only have a chance of occurring every time a ship is destroyed...

Stars increase antimatter regeneration by 2.5/second on all ships...also, some things just don't work in stars...apparently starbases with trade modules won't increase your credit income (though it still acts as part of your trade network, adding to its length)...I've heard that phase stabilizers don't work there either...I don't know if this refers to Vasari starbases, the Antorak's lvl 6 ability, or both...

Magnetic clouds prevent all abilities from being used...this is ALL abilities, even ones that don't require antimatter...since building a starbase is an ability, starbases can't be built in these

Plasma Storms prevent the use of strikecraft...

That's a bug; hopefully it'll get fixed.

Guess the only thing left to add on that topic is that space junk has no special properties.  It's just a plain uncolonizable gravity well.
