Looking for new ability ideas!

Now that I've got a sorta-system for making my own abilities, anyone know anything they'd wanna see made? Capship, Planet, Frigate... anything but Starbase. Hit me with your Ideas, and tell me which ships/factions should get! :D

Just to start of with something easy, capital ship fires a beam which moves and damage targets it touch :D

I'd like to see some additional Capships for the races, with a super ability comparable to the superweapons. Something like a supernuke for the TEC, a superlaser for the Advent, and some sort of Phase Missile destruction ability that can wipe out an entire starbase with one hit, or destroy the enemy colony on the planet in one hit for the Vasari.

Here's six fairly standard science fiction concepts to start you off:

Cloak generator (cloaks other vessels as well within its radius)

Inertia Stabilisation Field (counter to Repulse, Push, Gravity Distortion etc...)

Chaff/CM (counters LRF missiles and beams)

Plasma torpedo (a weapon that has enormous damage at close range and dissipates- is this possible in this game?)

Web (requires two or more ships, any ship surrounded by the Web is immobilised until the Web is destroyed)

Sunray (a weapon that is only active in a specific gravwell- in this case, the star)

Ships and factions are up to you!

hm. Cloak could be phasing effect and invulnerability for a while, fire out from- maybe ROF/damage decrease?

 

Not sure how I'd do that. really.

 

Maybe something that decreases accuracy. I know some of the code, but once weapons are fired they -will- hit, no matter what. Hm. (edit) Actually, I might have it. An ability that greatly reduces all enemy accuracy in the gravity well, briefly. Only way I can see of being sure to hit LRM frigates...

 

Very possible, see the Radiation Burst on the Marza. It just wouldn't do DOT... I think Advent or Vasari. Unless you mean something that has decreasing power as it gets away from the firing ship?

 

The 'web' thing would be insanely fun, but -really- tricky. Maybe a 'reduce speed' buff, stacks up to three, each one does 33.3333 reduction- I like that idea. a LOT. Possibly the Ruiner- it's unarmed, a very 'utility' ship... Channeling... still not sure how I'd get it to require multiple ships.

 

Not sure how I'd code it but I LOVE the idea. Very "Advent."

I've been brainstorming for a new race idea.  Here are a few of the abilities I've come up with so far:

Surgical Strike (ultimate):

the ship focuses all firepower on the target, instantly destroying it (affects frigates and structures).

Gravitic Shield:

the ship creates an inverted gravitational field using its engines, disabling movement but also repelling all nearby SC and ships and greatly decreasing incoming damage.

Multidimensional Rift (ultimate)
Tears local space asunder, sending all nearby enemy vessels into Phase Space, disabling and damaging them. (also phases out allied vessels and the caster for a shorter duration, draining antimatter from allies but not damaging them)

Soul Siphon (advent nonultimate)

the ship's crew siphons the sould of destroyed enemy warships, restoring a moderate amount of anitmatter/shield points whenever a nearby enemy dies.

Vengeful Spirits (advent Nonultimate)

the ship's crew channels their rage whenever a nearby ally dies, allowing the souls of their deceased comrades to exact vengeance. (damages enemies whenever they destroy an Advent ship)
