If all substances/drugs were legalized, then a LOT of people would die off and EVEN MORE would become druggies for life.
The Government, or whatever companies that sold the stuff, would make a lot of money, probably as much or more than Soda companies and Beer companies.
There may or may not be crime to *get* money to pay for legalized drugs ... although it would be a TINY PERCENTAGE compared to the current crime in order to get drugs.
Additionally, the main legalized "pushers" shouldn't be able to sell drugs to a felon. People who commit drug related crimes should get life in prison, while those who commit VIOLENT drug related crimes should get the death penalty.
People who are obviously guilty of murder, related to drugs, should get an Automatic Death penalty with little litigation.
that is all.
I "Partly" agree with this, my friend. Personally I think it would be a GOOD THING if a whole bunch of weak willed followers suddenly OD'd and killed themselves. Any MATURE person who knows how to do things in Moderation can handle getting a "buzz" without becoming a "Addict". Read the long ass post I made back on Page 1 of this thread and you'll see a more complete picture of my thoughts on the subject.
I don't think "even more would become druggies" though. That part I strongly disagree with. A "Druggie" is what I would consider a "Addict". Right now with my health issues and all the meds my doctors give me, sadly, I have to say my body Is Addicted to some of the meds I'm on. When I don't have my pain meds that I get prescribed to me Legally I'm in so much Pain I literally can't get out of bed, it's that Bad. From my point of view though it's the doctors and Florida's messed up laws that have caused my body to become dependant on these pain meds. I'd much rather be able to Legally smoke weed then have to take all these expensive prescriptions. I'm honestly very afraid that after I have my surgery I need that I'll end up having to go through some kind of program to get my-self off these pain killers the doctors keep shoving down my throat. If I decide not to take the meds they give me my life is a living hell because of all the pain I'm in and not being able to eat or sleep because of the pain.
If Pot was legal in Florida I wouldn't have to worry at all about being addicted to medications I need just to try to live a somewhat "normal" life. Doctors make more addicts out of people then illegal drug dealers ever could. Why? Because they get PAID to make people addicts. The federal government gets it's share by taxing the drug companies. Politicians get bribes and pay-offs by pharmaceutical companies. Our medical and health care systems in the US purposefully make addicts out of people who Really Need Medical help and care and they do it just to make more money. Pot is a universal cure-all, it's cheap, and people can grow their own at home and NOT NEED large corporations and they Don't Need to pay taxes on it. As such it's hard for the state and federal governments to track and regulate it, so instead they just make it illegal. By making it illegal they can also prosecute people for using it. This way they make twice as much money. It's a sad, Sad, state of affairs.
Edit: I Highly Disagree with your "Sentencing Ideas". Are you saying that because I got busted with a few ounces of weed I should be spending the Rest of My Life in Prison? That's pretty messed up man...
