Well to find the most mods, you should update your game to the most recent version 1.051. However, most mods for 1.04/1.041 should work for 1.042 as I believe it was only a hotfix. So if you don't want to update for whatever reason, mods that haven't been updated since 1.04 (or mods that keep their old versions for download, like Star Wars: Requiem) should work.

Distant Stars is only for Entrenchemtn 1.051 and Diplomacy 1.011

Update your game by going here www.impulsedriven.com and downloading Impulse (if you want you can remove it after the update). After that everything should be fairly easy to figure out.
