How to Use Repair Support Cruisers

Hello. I've been playing the game for two weeks, and I have a question about some of the support cruisers. The Robotics Cruiser for the TEC. It seems like if I turn off auto-attack, they don't repair, even though the ability is set to autocast, yet if I turn on auto-attack, some die attacking units but they do repair my ships. The same with the Advent Subdjugator, and I'm not sure if the Vasari Overseer's ability repairs or just raises max hull and shield.

What should I do?

Under Fleet Control, fourth button on the bottom that has a hand symbol, the engagment range button with the circle symbol helps keep the reapir ships from going into the fray if you set it to red which is hold position.

I generally turn off auto-attack for those support cruisers because they do little damage and (for Advent and Vasari) they have to orient towards their targets before repairing them. But with auto-attack off, they still do use their abilities: but, depending on engagement range, they may not allow themselves to move in order to do so.

alt-click 1 repair cruiser in your fleet to select all of them and go to the right bottom of your screen and right click on the auto-attack button to turn it off. Good Luck
