You can't download plain patches in .exe's off the internet because there needs to be a way to verify that the person downloading it has actually bought the game.
For Sins the solution is to register your serial number on what used to be Impulse and is now some Gamestop thing.
It may be annoying for you, but it's the way the developers have made sure that pirates don't get the better of them.
